They may have needed a charge but aren’t benefiting from plugging into a rapid charger to do it. The car will only charge at the rate allowed by the car, not what the charger is capable of. Full BEV cars will more often than not swallow a lot of juice in that time and allow them to get on with their driving. Rapids shouldn’t really be blocked for that length of time full stop, let alone by a PHEV. Destination chargers 3 or 7kw ones are best for PHEVs, not least because the cost of charging from rapids will probably be more than the equivalent cost of the fuel.
More miles done on electric is a good thing but hogging rapid chargers isn’t. There needs to be more education on this sort of stuff.

0.5kwh in 40 odd mins, if they’ve been charging the 2hole time that’s less than 3A, either way it’s less than 2 miles of range, it looks like they were virtually full when they turned up and are using the bay as a nice parking spot. Unless the charger had a problem this is nothing but selfish, and ignorance is no defence. Nothing I wanted to change because I’m limited to what I’m allowed (company car), I’ve hit the max options value. I’ll quiz them a bit more to find out some more details on Friday, just think it’s strange behaviour to give me the car they built for me only for them to replace it in 2.5 months. It can’t be profitable for anyone except the sales team. I’ll continue to vent frustration because it’s a hassle and I do feel I should be compensated in some way. Although I’ll have the car I’ll know it isn’t “my” car, then when the novelty of having the 330e has worn off, “my” car will arrive. Sounds silly I know but I feel like I’m kinda cheated out of the new car experience with this being my first ever new car. Most expensive car I’ve had until now was a £1500 e46 330i (great car by the way).
Please don’t take this the wrong at but I am intrigued by what you would expect as compensation? As mentioned earlier in the thread, BMW are rumoured to have registered nearly all the of 330E’s in UK stock on the last day of December including customer ordered cars to themselves and a rental company. Personally I would be a little annoyed by this if I was without a car but they are lending you a near identical replacement until they build you another.

I’m not defending this turd but if people haven’t done any research on the different types of chargers and there’s a cable that fits their socket then there’s a good chance they’ll use it without thinking they’re doing the wrong thing. My PHEV was handed over without any guidance and it’s only because I’ve spent time on SpeakEV forum that I got my education on the different types and what to avoid (ahead of delivery).
BEV drivers can get a bit ‘holier than thou’ on charging access but on this occasion they have good reason.

The handover is pretty dreadful, and we see cars plugged into Tesla super chargers because the plug fits but they won't work. Just as well, they'd fry most cars as they pump out over 100kw - thats equivalent to about 450 amps. It is disappointing all round that people order these cars without doing any research on the ownership given they do plenty on the tax benefits and where they can park. and the garages sell them without sharing even the basics, usually because the staff just don't know. Have ordered the 330e Shadow Edition, went and test drove a 5 series and felt it was just too big, the wife would never drive it so I would always be designated driver Hope I've made the right decision... I felt the 19" rims, plus runflats, plus M Sport suspension would just be too harsh, so took the no-cost option to delete M Sport suspension, will hopefully make it a bit softer. Most times I will have 2 kids in the back, I won't be chucking it into corners much any more
Just hope deleting the M Sport suspension doesn't increase the ride height, could find nothing online about it.

Glad you like your motor. Mine too is the Shadow in white...
Im curious, what issues did you have with connected drive as I think mine is not working as it should? Also, how did you resolve it?
Thanks
Most of the information from the car like battery and charge status, mileage, journey efficiency, status of the doors etc wasn’t available to view, also I wasn’t able to climatise the vehicle remotely or any of the other functions. BMW connected drive helpline had to email Germany to get remote services added to my purchased options/services (should come as standard on this model), I then had to log on to the portal and activate remote services. Here is a screen shot of how the app should look from my iPhone with all the correct functions. Im curious, what issues did you have with connected drive as I think mine is not working as it should? Also, how did you resolve it?
Thanks

Sounds a nice spec. Deleting the m sport suspension will increase the ride height. If you want an idea what it will look like look at any Xdrive msport model as none have msport suspension and therefore sit higher.
I was pretty sure the extra ride height with xDrive was due to just xDrive, so I would expect the MSport suspension delete to not affect the ride height. bmwphever said:

That fits with what I’ve been told. The dealer told me it is my actual car that I’m getting (tomorrow) but I have to return it for another end of March. It’s not all bad but it’s just annoying because I’d rather just drive away tomorrow in my car and that be the end of it. For example I want to get my dash cam fitted etc but I don’t know if there is any point knowing it will all be to remove soon. It’s small stuff I know and Barely worth bringing up but my point is only that I (the customer) is going through an inconvenience. The fact they are giving me a replacement car for the duration, I don’t take for granted though and I take back my suggestion I should be compensated further. I think I’d just had a bad day at work and was looking to vent.As mentioned earlier in the thread, BMW are rumoured to have registered nearly all the of 330E’s in UK stock on the last day of December including customer ordered cars to themselves and a rental company. On another note, did everyone buy their type 2 charge cable from the dealer? If so how much? I see there are plenty online and I expect the dealer will sting me a bit harder. After some investigation it seems I can’t claim this as a business expense
eBay from a Mercedes company car driver who had no intention of ever charging. Or handing the cable back! I prefer the Mercedes cable as it’s coiled so keeps off the floor when charging. This helps keep my boot clean.
