I sat in an i3 yesterday and found the seats a bit hard and thin. Are the seats in a Leaf or Zoe similar?

The seats in the i3 are disappointing. They lack any significant lumbar adjustment. Luckily, it's not a car you'll be driving for long distances...... ;-)

I've done a few 150 mile journeys in my i3 and, whilst the seats don't strike you as being immediately comfortable, I find it fine to be sat in them for 2-3 hours. Doing a similar journey length in the OH's old A Class would result in a sore lower back and the Qashqui I hired when away last weekend resulted in a numb arse after a couple of hours at the wheel.

I'm test driving an i3 soon; I'll probably do about 60 odd miles so hopefully that'll give me an idea about the seats.

I've had problems in the past with seats lacking lumbar support which is why I asked.

Any views on the Zoe/Leaf seats?

Often do 100+ mile journeys in the i3 .. seats are very comfortable. No issues for me around support.

Seats in the ZOE are typical French, soft but supportive, I find them very comfortable.

Don't recall anything particularly wrong with i3 seats in the limited time I sat on them. Leaf's are fine, Zoe I couldn't get on with as I thought it was like sitting on a bench that was tilting forward

If i didn't have a 335 with the sports seats in it, then the i3 seats would probably feel fine. But once you've sat in some good BMW seats, you notice the poorer ones! To be fair, the reason the backrests of the i3 seats are thin and hard is to free up knee room for the rear seat passengers, so it's not necessarily just a cost cutting exercise.

Leaf seats with the heaters on are lovely - Zoe nice and squishy - both gave me no hassle.

I tend to suffer in car seats that have webbing seat backs with poor lumbar support.
The i3 i borrowed for a couple of days had to be returned after a day as i found the seats not good for my lower back.
Not tried the Leaf or the Zoe but i find French car seats generally tend to be very soft as do Japanese ones so rules them out for me.

I am finding my i3 comfy for my back, but side support is not the best and they are firm.. I can definitely see they wouldn't suit some people.

The seats are thin because it's all about lightness. However I find them perfectly comfortable. Just demonstrates that cars don't need huge, complex seats with multiple motors, heating/cooling/massage etc., weighing tens of kilos!

Leaf - cloth seated Acenta with the smaller wheels - is dead comfy and gives a half decent old school non-MSport ride quality.
Seats are very good for a little hatchback.

Very Pleased with our Leaf Tecna seats, Leather, good support, Comfortable and the best feature they are heated individually Front, plus steering wheel & rear seats. Well pleased with the ride too and so many of the other Tecna features like 360 Deg birds eye view cameras, Etc.

I had a Leaf for a 5 day test drive and found the seats extremely uncomfortable, the seat base is very short and I think that is why it constantly sent my legs to sleep, I was very relived to give it back. Other people have obviously not had the same problem so it is very much a personal thing.
I test drove a Zoe and found it very comfortable.

I took an i3 out for a test drive yesterday, did about 50 miles and the seats were fine.

The test drive confirmed I want an i3. I just need to find the right one now, so the search begins.

Just curious, have you test driven the latest Zoe?
I test drove them both and ended up ordering a Zoe.

No, I only drove the i3 as I'd pretty much made up my mind I want one based on what I've read.
When I drove it I liked the acceleration and handling. I'm guessing the Renault and Nissan will be pretty similar to small hatchback hire cars I've driven which have little if no feel.

I know it can be a Marmite thing but, I also prefer the look of the i3 to the Renault and Zoe, more futuristic.

Finally, I want a car with the range extender system. At the moment only BMW do this, although I'm happy to be corrected on this.

What range does a standard non range extender i3 give you and what does that increase to with a range extender?
