Tesla and Uber Unlikely to Survive...
Discussion
Also notice Walmart have paused the lawsuit, worldwide nagative publicity seems to have done the trick! and the joint statement indictates to me that Tesla have been bent over, and will be paying for any remedial work themselves.
For Walmart and potentially others too.
Should never have got to this stage, more poor management to not nip it in the bud.

Tiny city state doesn't encourage car ownership shocker.
In the rest of the world we have multiple cities and rural areas.
Then why is the CEO of Tesla not as clever as you and so bothered? In the rest of the world we have multiple cities and rural areas.

Having seen the inside of the Taycan, I don’t see how anyone would choose a (high price model) Tesla over one?
It looks like a mess of 4 screens and cramped. Would have preferred model3 style simplicity. But I don't think they will have any issues selling out for the first year. The more EVs the better. Shame (for them) the S will beat it in the real world to 60.The Model 3 screen thing is overplayed for me, the positioning makes reading the speed on the top corner of the screen very easy as not far from your eye line and if you're really bothered by it you can add a GPS speedo for about £20 off Amazon.
Agree a proper HUD would be a nice addition though.
£70k to not look like a debt riddled head of IT in desperate need of free electricity? Might sell quite well to blokes who want an EV with a Porsche badge.
To be serious, it looks quite nice and the dash layout seems logical and more importantly, appropriate for an expensive car. With a 2-300 mile range that should be perfectly usable for the daily suburban grind and weekends out to pleasant places.

£70k? Since the last estimate I saw for US pricing was starting at $90k + sales taxes, doesn’t that suggest more like £80k here based on how their other prices correlate? To be serious, it looks quite nice and the dash layout seems logical and more importantly, appropriate for an expensive car. That would put it on a par with current Tesla Model S pricing, albeit for a much smaller vehicle.
Clearly it offers a different set of compromises. If rumours are to be believed, it will have about 100 miles less WLTP range than a Model S (or almost 30% less) and obviously a lot less space. That choice is welcome.

Maybe power cables will be the new mudguards?

The Taycan has got less space inside than the Model 3 let alone the Model S, especially in the rear.

Those of us old enough used to drive Minis and such like with central speedos without any problem. You have to look away to check you mirror, what’s so different about checking your speed? Personally I keep a lookout more often than I check the speedo - doesn’t everybody?!The Model 3 screen thing is overplayed for me, the positioning makes reading the speed on the top corner of the screen very easy as not far from your eye line and if you're really bothered by it you can add a GPS speedo for about £20 off Amazon.

There have been plenty of cars with central instruments over the years.

the lack of carplay / android auto is a far more grievous crime than having the speed displayed on the centre display There have been plenty of cars with central instruments over the years.

Well, please let me take you to task here. Firstly, back when we drove Minis you never needed to look at the speedo because firstly it was nigh on impossible to be speeding, secondly there were no scameras and thirdly, if the police did spot you they never seemed to mind because it was a Mini. There have been plenty of cars with central instruments over the years.
And it’s the same for mirrors, you never needed to look at those either because by the time you were doing much more than 20mph your head was vibrating at a different frequency to the mirrors so you could see nothing at all in them.
Good times.
Probably the main problem with the enormous Grundig in the middle of the Tesla is that the average age of the owner means their eyes are well and truly into the age deterioration zone where they find it harder and harder to switch between screen and real world.

Every single review I've seen has said the 3 has the best entertainment system bar none, also the best sound system.Putting Android/iOS on that screen would look like st. Tesla does support approved apps (spotify, google maps, netflix etc.) just like Apple do.
