I've been looking for a below 50g/km car for a while and went to look at a 530e at the weekend.

The salesman told me they were ending production shortly on both the 330e and the 530e due to the Government moving to using WLTP rather than NEDC and neither car is low emissions on the new test (530d and 540i are apparently likely to be better, test data hasn't been published yet). Said there probably isn't much point ordering as unlikely to get built before they stop.

BMW are planning to wait for the i5 as a replacement rather than more "e's" around 2019/20. Anyone else heard this or similar?

I've been looking at an E350e, XC60 T8 Twin and the 530e, I assume all of these will suffer the same problem shortly.
I've just placed an order for the 530e M Sport through the companies scheme with Lex. Our fleet manager called me and explained potential issues with the BIK further down the line due to "fabricated" emissions etc., he also said that BMW were stopping production as a result of this but they would honour any deals with lease companies. On checking the Lex Driver Portal today it shows ETA stock date as 16/7/18. I'm not holding my breath however as I was originally told 22 weeks

I'm not interested in tax-reducer vehicles with tiny batteries.

Strange to comment on something that you have no interest in.

I have interest in BMW making proper EVs so nothing's strange about the comment.

Latest bmw magazine doesn’t show the 330e at all, but the 530e and 7 series were shown.

Had my 330e in Cornwall this weekend. It was great on the back roads, quiet in the villages and very comfortable on the cruise down the motorway. While I appreciate some want proper ev’s, this is still for me the best current balance and I still really enjoy the car (though I’d like more range, that compromises weight). As the battery technology advances these things will only get better and I’ll miss this one when it goes back to the lease company.

Just over 9 weeks until mine is arriving (hopefully), the wait is painful haha

Looking forward to giving it a blast to Cornwall in August, it’s a 350 mile trip so not sure if I will make it without refuelling
