Anyone have a link for a charger installation recommendation? Seems like three companies control the market.
Get a POD Point home charger. Their installation team is absolutely brilliant from my experience (and many others it seems) and their unit looks good and works well too. It draws less current when in standby than the others on the market, saves c£25/yr over say the Chargemaster one.
And there are lots of smart connected features coming in later this year as well to control your charging.

Hi, any more info/source on the new features expected? It draws less current when in standby than the others on the market, saves c£25/yr over say the Chargemaster one.

I had the Zappi installer come out today for a survey. It's got good future capability such as running just of PVs or Home Battery.

My Mrs has had the 225XE Luxury with pano roof for 2 years so I might be able to answer a few questions.
She typically does a 30 mile round trip to work and other ferrying kids around so it is mixed electric and petrol driving. Average MPG is solid 60 overall. You only get near 100mpg+ on short journeys that are fully electric. Fully petrol-only journeys are about 40 mpg.
We only bother charging it at home. Had a Rolec charger installed. Well worth doing, and I recall we had to wait 6 weeks for installation so get yours booked in (do not bother charging with the 3 PIN plug) We fill out all the forms, the installer charges us the install fee less the grant nd they take the forms away with them. You need to buy a Type 2 cable (£100+) if you are going to use public charging, but we have never bothered buying the cable or signing up to the different schemes.
First service was at 23000 miles, as per the service indicator, and it is now showing next service due at 45000 miles.
I actually quite like the car, wife is indifferent to it, but kids find it very uncool and think it is definitely an old person's car. For some reason, the sound system is significantly better in the 225 than in my 2016 5-series.
Cheers!
Hi Mark, I'm trying to work out how much additional electricity i will require and the impact of switching tariffs. She typically does a 30 mile round trip to work and other ferrying kids around so it is mixed electric and petrol driving. As an average across the year, what kind of miles/kWh have you achieved?

Not sure the premium pack is a no brainer. I turned it down when offered. The car comes with connected drive app and can be pre-heated - kind of negates the heated seats. The car has LED running lights - and modern halogen main beam look like LED nowadays. So maybe the pano roof would be worth £180? I have one in my 5 series and never use it! It also comes with rear PDC as standard.
Connected drive won't warm the car it just turns the fans on. Heated seats and Front sensors have to be worth £180 of anyone's money. Could t care less about lights or sunroof. Absolute no brainer. Enemy had hers confirmed today still no delivery date mind.
I had the Mrs’ 225xe confirmed yesterday PM.
Standard M Sport in white with black leather with blue stitching @ £249.
No delivery date confirmed yet, but looking forward to some very low cost motoring for her. She does less than 10 miles per day so hopefully all will be electric.
It’s perfect timing as her Fiesta ST Line lease goes back mid December.

Is this car really that bad? Seen people saying bad comments about it ..
Really confised
Try head to a dealer and have a look, sit inside etcReally confised
Yeah, it definitely one of the least attractive BMW’s out there, but I ordered. £239 all in per month for a specced out 2018 Beemer, with extras. Cheap running costs (we do very low mileage) no London congestion charge.. it drives great
And lots of oomph too. 0 to 60 in six and a half seconds

Same - we've had the ST line for 2yrs & this seems an ideal replacement. I went M Sport in white at £249.Standard M Sport in white with black leather with blue stitching @ £249.

The ST line went back at the end of August & awaiting confirmation of delivery date from the dealership.

been watching about the comment reg charger, is the charger necessary? can it be charged with out it?
Yes. Vehicle comes with a regular charger that can me plugged into any home socket. Will take about 3 hours to fully charge. Vs 2 hours on a dedicated charger slugsly said:
You don't even need to plug it in if you don't want to, and just charge it while driving (up to 50%), by way of regenerative braking and coasting.
Are saying it can only be topped up by upto 50% of battery capacity through regenerative braking? Also, is it confirmed that coasting will also top up battery? I think it’s the Leaf 2 or Zoe which can only do through using the brakes but not by coasting/lifting off the accelerator.
