Hm so why are they doing the same on nz/Oz cars?
Where the EU leads, others tend to follow. As a bloc it is the largest and wealthiest market in the world, and it makes sense to agree on standards.

I'd rather have the pan roof, as would most according to Tesla's market research.
Did Tesla do any market research in the UK?

I'd say hatches and estates vastly outnumber the amount of saloons on UK roads. And they are losing ground to SUVs, also a hatch.
Well it's main rivals are the BMW 3 series and Merc C class, both saloons although estate versions do exist of course. In due course the Model Y will be a SUV/crossover version of the Model 3, which will arguably sell better than an estate or hatch version. The UK market is not a top priority for Tesla, but I'm sure they'll sell plenty of Model 3 saloons here anyway. For a saloon, it is still very practical.

Talk of adaptors for the s and x, I thought ccs forbid those?

Wonder what we'll get down here.
Yes if you believe some thought was no way on earth Tesla could offer a CCS adaptor retrofit on older S/X cars......But it appears I have one sitting on my kitchen table.

So our car can now rapid charge on CHAdeMO (via adaptor), CCS, and Tesla SC, cannot ever imaging Nissan ever offering this for the many current and past Leaf owners who may find CHAdeMO rapids becoming even rarer in future.
