I love driving, for me it’s part of the vacation, I hate airports get there 2 hours early, baggage booking in, security, arrival, wait for baggage, wait to pick up rental car etc etc, but as you say each to their own.
But if it’s a weekend away with a rucksack as your only luggage then I get your point completely

Ipace will manage around 350km on a full charge at highway speeds of those averages, recharging takes around an hour
EFA

under 300km on a charge and will take 2 hours to recharge (unless you can find a 100Kwh charger)

At the average speeds mentioned Bjorn got 370km in winter. But yes you'll need 100kw chargers

Nice looking car, love the front - but I couldn't get over the plastic door handles when I was comparing it to our e-tron Quattro out in Germany last month.

That’s funny. The Leaf really is the ugliest car on the road today.

It's hard to imagine something uglier in old man's gold, what a waste of 70K

Well each to their own, it'd be a boring world if we all liked the same thing I guess, although I'll admit to being suprised at the strength of feeling over something so subjective.

You'll not be suprised that I personally disagree, I think the I Pace is the first EV design that takes advantage of the new drivetrain and looks more modern and better for it. Obviously I would say that as I chose it.

Just to clear up a couple of non subjective points, it's Silver / grey not gold and it was just over £75k.

+1

The i-pace is one of those cars which looks much better when you see it in real life than in pictures. I think it is actually quite striking. And there is no doubt, it is significantly better looking than a frumpy leaf (and I drive one of those too!)

Bertie has purchased a super spec i-pace (my one is a poverty spec, cheap lease deal). But still, things could be worse!

You did well to do the deal when you did: Tesla have just announced huge price cuts on the Models S and X. Apparently the top Model S has been cut by over £40,000! AutoExpress reported it.

Indeed, looks like I came out of the Tesla at the right time

I couldnt disagree more. Its a smart looking car IMO. For an SUV-shaped vehicle it looks really good. Far better than anything I can think of from the big 3 German brands (EV or not). Not sure about the price tag (i thought these were in the £45-£55k price range) but ugly? You're just on a wind-up.

Thought I'd drop an update on the ugly olds mans gold car......

Positives…
Build quality is really good, feels very solid.
Really comfy, exceptionally quiet and relaxing.
Love the premium textile.
It's a much better size than the Tesla which was so wide and long it was cumbersome.

Negatives…
The range readout is very pessimistic, it shows just over 200 miles when full, reality is I can get 230 odd, used to get 240-250 out of the Tesla, odd since both are 90kWh batteries
Backup camera is dangerously laggy, the picture is jerky and slow to update so don’t rely on it.
The infotainment is OK ish but very slow to boot up.
The matrix lights are like witchcraft, superb but I cannot fathom how to activate them. They’re currently on but no idea how I did it and I’ve read the book twice on it, so now I daren’t touch it!
Dissapointed I couldnt get a heated steering wheel.

Overall it’s drives ver much like the Tesla only it’s been screwed together properly and doesn’t need resetting 3 or 4 times a week!

That sounds like a long list of negatives but I’m really pleased with it.

Just on this point, I wonder if it is worth asking your dealer if there has been an update, as the reversing camera on my car has no log at all. The picture is very smooth.

I and my wife were lucky to be invited on a Jaguar iPace drive at Millbrook. There were about 50 of us and over 50% were Tesla drivers. All the Tesla drivers said that when there leases were up they would all be getting an iPace.
I loved the drive both on the road and on track. I did have one issue. I could hear a slight noise when driving.....I thought they were meant to be very quiet. The Jaguar guy's said....we have via the touch screen introduced a level control to add noise as some customers fined it strange being so quite.....Once the control was set to minimum the car had a comfortable quite ride. We both loved the car and Jaguar treated us to a great day.
I love your car and I am very envious. Enjoy biggrin

It’s smooth, just a quarter of a second behind reality which is the difference between nearly parked and in the shrubbery

Is it?

I didn’t know that, what is the other 6kw reserved for?
