Hi all,

Apologies if this gets asked a lot but, does anyone have any idea of the waiting time for a car once you sign up? My current lease goes back in a little under two months and I was thinking evezy might be a useful interim until the next one arrives but, it doesn't seem to give any indication of the wait.

Cheers!
You might struggle to get a Tesla M3 in that timescale but if you get you name on the lists for the other models I'd expect you to get an i3/Leaf/Ioniq fine.

If it's your first EV be prepared to lose interest in your new lease though. I gave up a company car in April and replaced it with an i3 'in the interim'. Still have the i3 5 months later and have now sold the wifes ICE car and waiting on a Tesla Model 3 Performance to run alongside it.

Every ICE car I've been in/driven since getting the i3 just feel so old fashioned in comparison. smile

Thanks, I guess I'd better get my name down.

If you sign up are you the contractually required to take a car when one becomes available?

You have to put down a 4 month deposit on the Tesla's (which covers the first 4 payments) and then you have to run it for a month before cancelling or you lose your first months payment. For the rest I believe there is no obligation but would advise giving them a date to work to in order to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Thanks, I've registered for an Ioniq and digitally signed the docs (using your referral code from the first page of the thread). smile

I assume you don't start paying until they can actually give you a car? Checked through the Ts&Cs but it wasn't obvious.

Not to worry, found it in the handbook with the app.

I agree wholeheartedly.

I went from a TTRS to an i3, just looking to cut the cost of my commute down (at least theoretically since the Evezy subscription cost is more than I was spending a month on petrol, insurance, tax, maintenance, etc) and I ended up selling my TTRS and still have the i3. I'm going to be ordering a Model 3 Performance soonish.

If you don't need to do silly distances every day then I honestly can't see any downside to EVs.. they are cheaper to run and just as quick, and there is less to go wrong mechanically. If you drive them properly you pretty much never have to use the brakes, so they would last a long time too. The only problem really is if you don't have somewhere where you can charge at home, although I still don't have a home charger 4 months later and have managed to get by on public charging with little issue.

Hello all

can those with EV experience pitch in here please. Whilst waiting for the call from Evezy to tell me the car is ready, i'm thinking about charging etc. For now I'm not going to bother with a home charger as I don't do a lot of miles in an average week and an overnight trickle feed will probably do the job

But there is now one of the new BP 150kw chargers a mile from my house.

Roughly, how fast will that replenish a Tesla M3? Am i right in saying an M3 can go up to 200 kw??

Assuming the charger works this seems an ideal low hassle solution to me, it has a bank card reader embedded, no need to join a network or carry a smart card, albeit it says you need an app called Smoov on your phone to start and stop the charging.

Finally i note some street lamp chargers appearing v near me (Lambeth borough) - it doesn't show the charge rate, its basically just a small door in the lamppost. Anyone know (i'm assuming its slow!)

cheers

i would get a home charger whilst the large rebate is still available

250kw max from this handly little m3 charging calculator, 1hour to go 10-90% on a 145kw telsa charger

https://leccy.net/charging/tesla_model_3

i have always assumed lamp post charging wont have a very high Kw rating as the lamps use minimal current so probably are not cabled for 32a / 7kw supply

I'm sure someone on speakev said earlier that that particular BP charger is also included in the evezy subscription, including the model 3.

Is it necessary to have mobile reception to unlock and drive the car?

No.

Sometimes if there is no reception the app gets a bit confused, but if you turn data off it will start the car.

Just had an email to say I've been added to the waitlist but it says this:

Please note - an email will be sent out to everyone on the waiting list when the car becomes available and we operate on a first come, first served basis.
This sounds like the wild west???

I find myself in between cars at the moment and saw this thread so thought it may be an opportunity to try an EV.

Was looking at the i3 as an option, would only need it for a month or 2 I think.

How long does it take once signed up to get a vehicle?

Is it all as easy as it seems?

Would an i3 charge from a household socket overnight?

Cheers

Don't know how quickly you could get an i3 now. I signed up quite early in the process and only had to wait about 3 weeks and that was mostly due to the delivery falling either side of a bank holiday weekend.

Yes, it is very easy. I've just signed up for a 6 month contract with them so I can avail myself of the OLEV grant. In the time I've had the car - 4 months - I've only had problems getting into the car twice due to their web services being down, and both of those were resolved in less than 30 minutes. Every other time it has just worked, with no issues at all.

It is worth remembering that the excess is £1000 and unless I'm mistaken there is still no cast iron way to protect against it, since the regular excess insurance places don't deal with subscription models where the contract auto-renews. Some people I've read take out 30 day policies to cover themselves, but I don't know if that works.

The i3 is a great car - I'm sure you'd love it smile

Just spoke with them, seems like ALL their cars are on an unknown lead time due to being very popular the last few months.

Hmph!

I've tried to read all of the pages and gone through the EVEZY website, so please forgive me.

Am I right in assuming the process is as follows:
1. Pick Car
2. Register & add second driver
3. Get approved for insurance/finance & pay admin fee of £9.99
4. Get added to waititng list
5. Get notification of car being available
6. Location given & £1000 deposit taken
7. Drive car away
8. Payment taken monhtly
9. Handback anytime at the end of a given month
10. Walk away OR swap for a different car and adjust payments accordingly (& pay any excess mileage/damage charges w. £1,000 exess)

Is it really as easy as this?
The Zoe would we perfect as a daily for me and then use the ICE car in the family for longer journeys. All costs being bundled into one monthly cost is great Would a Zoe charge enoguh over night on a 3 pin chagrer for 50 mile round commute? I might just swap cars..

They don't take a 1k deposit, you pay up to 1k if you have an incident.

They take the first month's payment in the day if collection and at that time your app updates and you start using the car, and they take the monthly payment at the same time each month.

And you will easily get enough charge on a Zoe overnight
