I'm planning on signing up over the coming weeks - anyone have a referral code they'd like to share?
I posted mine literally 5 posts back!I too have had no issues using iDrive and don’t miss not having a touchscreen at all. iDrive is perfectly intuitive ime.
What does grate is trying to use the wheel to search for a song or whatever on Spotify, although you can use voice for that too so it’s not too bad.
The top of the iDrive wheel has a touch interface incidentally, you can use it to draw letters when searching though I find that slower than simply finding the letter.
And yes there are settings to change the kWh/mile etc display, mine is on miles/kWh.

Entering a postcode via iDrive is the bit I hate the most. It's such a pita that I now just send it to the car via the BMW connected app instead. What does grate is trying to use the wheel to search for a song or whatever on Spotify, although you can use voice for that too so it’s not too bad.

Not used spotify as wasn't aware it was available. Can you link to a premium account?
It’s not built in, in the sense that you can use the car’s cellular network. You still need a phone and a signal (unless you have stuff downloaded in Spotify).
If you have Spotify on your phone when you connect your phone to the car it comes up as a separate app below Bluetooth audio, with various controls that relate to Spotify etc (eg searching, playlists, podcasts, etc)
This is using an iPhone incidentally, I presume Android is the same though.
It appears every time I start the car, I don’t have to load it on the phone or the car manually or anything.

Might have a look at that then especially with the Model 3 having Spotify built in. Already have an Apple Music family subscription but with no Carplay in either car it's not great for that purpose. As my daughter is now at Uni I can use her details to sign up for a Student Premium account with 3 months free and then £4.99 a month hopefully.
ETA - Looks like the Tesla will come with free Premium anyway so will have to see how that works before committing to it just for the i3.

That picture is out of date (SR+ now has internet browser) we also now get the spotify that we didnt get before, but i wasnt aware that the premium interior included the actual spotify login credentials?
Straight from Tesla's website, but doesn't surprise me. I believe there is a difference in premium connectivity though that you don't get in the SR+.

Hi, I'd really like to buy an EV and thought it'd hire one for a couple of weeks before buying. Searching around I found Evesy and seem rather impressed. Do they allow just 1 month rentals?
Also, I notice that you need to use the app to lock/unlock the car. I park in an underground carpark at work that has no phone signal, I'm concerned that the vehicle won't work as it's a signal deadspot. I'd hate to park it only to find that I can't move it! Any thoughts?

Yes, you can hire for 1 month. Currently long waiting lists on all cars though. Also, I notice that you need to use the app to lock/unlock the car. The Tesla's need a 4 month deposit paying up front but you can still cancel after 1 month and get the other 3 refunded.
Lock/Unlock works via bluetooth on all cars now so data signal not an issue other than once a month when you need to download the key.
If you are considering signing up PM me and I'll share my referral code for £50 off for both of us. I've got 2 cars from them (i3 and Model 3 Performance) so any saving welcome.

the above was true until v10, now i think its a lesser difference, im still not convinced premium includes spotify subscription, more like the ability to use spotify like i have, logging into my own account.
I can now confirm that the Performance comes with Spoitfy Premium without the need to sign in with a personal account. All done via the generic Tesla account and works great. Gassing Station | EV and Alternative Fuels | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
