Hi,

Buyer beware. I was ready to order a Model 3 Performance and happened to be in Cambridge today where they have just put a LHD Model 3 in their boutique showroom.

Lovely from a distance but up close the corner cutting is staggering. Not just the usual Tesla panel gaps but ill-fitting trim just about everywhere you looked and to cap it off, the spot welds are visible on the rear quarters.

My advice, definitely arrange to see one before you commit. My spec would have been £64k and I would have been mightily pissed off had I ordered it online and it has arrived in the state their display mode was.

Those LHD demo cars are quite old now afik, lots of change and improvements.
Can we keep this thread to actual orders and than deliveries. There is enough discussion on Tesla in other posts.

When looking at the price don't forget to add in the extra £1,600 luxury car tax that will be due.

Yes it is and just reminding everyone who orders one that the base price for the Model 3 without any options is £42400. Whatever configuration is made there will be the added luxury tax for years 2-5 to pay each year.

Using the Tesla online ordering system it automatically reduces the price after the government grant by £3500 which might confuse some that they will get away with not paying the tax. I got caught out last year when buying my i3 as the purchase price was £37300. The tax system said it was listed at over £40k so lux tax applied....

£40k for an i3..

I'm hiring one at the moment and think it's great, but £40k? eek

Thats exactly my point. That price you say is after the grant has been deducted (£3500) but the base price is still £42400 for DVLA

Again can we keep this thread to posts on actual car orders and than deliveries rather than get clogged up by the usual hot air around Tesla.

Just helped my dad (70 this year!) spec his this morning:

  • Model 3 Long Range All-Wheel Drive Performance
  • Red Multi-Coat Paint
  • Performance Upgrade
  • 20’’ Performance Wheels
  • Performance Brakes
  • Carbon Fibre Spoiler
  • Performance Pedals
  • Black and White Premium Interior
  • Autopilot
  • Full Self-Driving Capability
It was between this and the iPace and although he's a Jaguar man (F-Type R in the garage) the better range / software / speed of the Tesla won. iPace much better looking, though!

Now the government just need to update the list of Homecharge Scheme eligible vehicles with the Model 3, so that he can get the grant on the home charger install...

Looking at the paperwork, it's 14 days if you don't use it (as per anything purchased online). If you do use it, it's 7 days or 1000 miles (whichever comes first).

If any one wants a referral code for 5000 miles of free supercharging use this one:

MARK65088

For info as you can't put the code in on ordering email Tesla - uk_sales@tesla.com with your order number and referral code and they will update your order to have the 5000 miles of free supercharging.

Ta.
Exactly the same spec as mine, although I also got FSD as well. I've had it 3 weeks now and it's been great so far (i'm in Canada), build quality and fit and finish on mine were above my expectations .. but my expectations were pretty low ! It's damn fast though.

I'm starting to get cold feet. When do you think we will have a better idea of SR+ delivery dates?

I'm starting to browse leafs! If delivery is pushed to Q3 it would be quite a pain in the butt.

Why not get something with EVEZY while you wait for the car you want?
