Model 3 UK orders.
Discussion
I have recently purchased a Model 3 Performance and its an amazing car, it is the future and for normal day to day transport it is ahead of anything else, both in performance and technology.
I also have an Alpine A110, a very different car, with less acceleration but more visceral pleasure. It's my B road car the Model 3 can't replicate the pleasure I get from a true drivers car, where its not about speed but about feeling and handling balance.
The M3 is the future but on the right roads a well balanced sports car is about so much more than just speed.

What a setup! I think that makes total sense, and the A110 is not sold as being an outright performance car - I'm not even sure what the power, 0-60 or nurburgring time is. It's a proper sports car, and I think that's a niche.I also have an Alpine A110, a very different car, with less acceleration but more visceral pleasure. M3s, M5s, 911s, Audi RS models, etc - they're status symbols and performance cars. The question is, are they still status symbols if Mrs Miggins beats them off the line in her Model Y? I don't think so, and I think that part of the car market will get ravaged.
Jesus, you’re all pissing in the wind.
Tesla, (ford and others) will dominate shortly, ice will be fondly remembered.
The more interesting question will be which ice models (and manufacturers) will live on in people memory (because the ice cars will certainly not be continuing).
For me, Alfa. Pretty much always unable and never defined/quantified.. but loved by those who partake (and quite frankly always gorgeous.. ugly, can be gorgeous). They’re dead though. Nailed to the perch by fiat, but pretty much an ex parrot
Porsche, definitely.. never had a fang in one myself, but I’ve heard and smelt enough hot ones to know, it knows what the fk it’s doing. Respect
Ferrari.. clearly. Will need to reinvent itself sharpish though.
What are the other iconic brands we will remember as players, not dishwashers?
... and which are the brands that will transition intact, or be supplanted by a left field new Chinese upstart on a Tuesday (new )

For the M5 you have super car performance in a saloon. The model S gives hyper car performance in a saloon.. isn’t the P100D the fastest car to 60 period?
Their USP has been lost entirely to technology.

Added complexity and a massive price tag, regardless It would be interesting to see how much that car would cost with an Audi badge on as then we can compare like for like price wise.<rant>
You know it amazes me on here that people go backward and forward between arguing between ICE cars vs Electric cars being better/worse whether Tesla is hype or not.
It seems very similar to posts that happen about MS windows / Android / Apple products .... It's all a bit strange. It ends up being personal which is weird.
We all like different things, I happen to love my electric car ( a Model 3 ) and my Alfa Romeo 4c.... Both totally different but fun in their own way.
BTW - I also like Apple products, but the newer stuff isn't as good, especially the keyboards on the new Mac Pro and the price of the new stuff is ridiculous, so will eventually move to other technlogy.
I also saw the same when people where discussion the Alpine and Porsche for some strange reason. Obviously owners are going to say they like the product (because they bought them). All products have pros/cons.... Chill everyone!

Did you try a 4c before the Alpine? I have a similar stable 4c and M3PI also have an Alpine A110, a very different car, with less acceleration but more visceral pleasure. I’ve not seen much chat on this issue. I’m particularly interested in what will happen to those ice cars that folk have ploughed huge sums in to either as investments, collections or just achieving an ambition. At what point will they have to get out in order to get at least some of their money back? Guess it won’t be this year? But within the next 3, 5 10 years or longer? When will be the tipping point for ice cars becoming (substantially) worth less?Tesla, (ford and others) will dominate shortly, ice will be fondly remembered.

Both good combinations.- Pete
I did consider it and I love the looks and concept but I was put off by the so-so reviews and above all by the fact, being rather tall, I don't think I would fit in it.
The Alpine is a bit softer and more refined than the 4c from what i understand.

However I think if The Alpine was out when I was looking for at the 4c I would have bought the Alpine.
BUT - IMHO the looks/noise are to die for :-)
