Can't believe they didn't change the name. That car will forever be known as the Audi Turd, and owners will never stop hearing about it.

That's a tempting deal when it comes to EVs. Someone I know in the UK got a quote for leasing the cheapest Model 3 (41k price) and it worked out as around 24 grand over 3 years with 10k miles a year.

£730/month... not that tempting I would argue. As far as I am aware no one has published accurate pricing for the M3 apart from Drive electric whoa re quoting 394+VAT on a 9*57 10k mile deal.

The only reason that looks anything like a reasonable value lease is because the MRRP is so stupidly high to start with.

I know someone who got a quote from pink car leasing for the Model 3 - that's for the standard range plus model 3 - 10k per annum. 6+35 payments £594 per month

I'm curious. Have you driven the car yet?

I drove one today fwiw. What were your impressions? Mine are a mixture of, 'ooohh', with a tiny bit of 'meh'.

My biggest surprise was the quality of the sales team at Reading Audi.

I have. It's... Okay. Drives okay, but it's very big and heavy and can't get around that.

The interior didn't live up to the price IMHO, the materials were not what you would expect for the money. Also wasn't that impressed with the digital dash, mainly because the digital speed display is a bit small. It needs to be big!

Having the charge ports on the side is a bad decision too. It means the charger lead will stick out into the road or onto the pavement when parallel parked, or towards the neighbouring car when perpendicular. Very easy for it to get knocked as someone walks, or worse drives/cycles past.

Overall it's okay but not all that interesting. It's incredibly inefficient and comes over as them not really having given much thought to the specific needs of an EV. The main thing it has going for it is that the similarly priced Model X has a LOT of reliability issues.

Dealer seemed unaware of the naming issue, I guess they don't teach that word in GCSE French.

Side charging ports are standard fit these days .. it's not an issue and I've done 10's (probably not 100's yet) of public charges

Yeah, I agree. It's nice. Which is damning with faint praise.

Nice interior - think Q3. The one I drove had the HUD which was impressive. The biggest let down was the performance - first time I'd driven an EV and I was expecting the instant torque to immediately impress (and overshadow my RS5). It did neither. Of course, the RS5 is a totally different car on every level but I was expecting a bit more.

The best place is the front, like the Niro, Kona, Leaf, Zoe and some of the other Audis. All the well designed cars have it at the front where it won't get the cable ripped out.

Side charging ports are just an accident waiting to happen. Good luck.

Too heavy and not setup for performance or the range would have been even more abysmal.

You need to drive an iPace or Tesla 100D to understand what the instant torque thing is all about.

I had an i3 for three years and never had a problem - and am on several EV forums and have never heard of one incident of a side port getting broken

Main problem I read about are the ports being to far from the front/back of the car so the cable does not reach.

Thanks for the tip. I fear quality issues with JLR and Tesla. My totally unscientific perception is that their quality is even lower than VAG. That's quite some achievement!
