Well, she’s home and on charge.

Mine would have been built between Mar-Aug when the cars being recalled were built.

Let’s see what happens.

I'm just about to order mine, the dealer told me it will be January/February next year for delivery, a bit of a wait but I could get one sooner if I wanted to change my spec, seems they have a few in the system in varying spec levels, I've opted for a touring this time, decided to stick with rear-wheel drive and use winter tyres.
Any "don't bother with" options on the new cars?

For those that have the "current" model. I'm curious to see the impact of running the sports mode on the electric range. How often can you get both motors to kick in until the charge has gone

I had a 66 reg one from new as a company car on a 2 year 36k mile contract
Mine was constantly throwing error messages related to electric running, and the dealers were unable to diagnose why they kept on appearing.
It also lost most of the oil out of the gearbox 3 months into my contract, which resulted in it being off the road for 2 months waiting for BMW to supply a new box. When putting it back together, it was discovered that the gearbox ÉCU was also faulty, and so that also needed replacing
I was informed that the cost of all that came to a sum north of £20k. Add to that the cost of 2 months car hire, then it was a costly experience.
Based purely on my personal experience, I wouldn’t touch one with a very long barge pole if it was out of warranty or would go out of warranty in my tenure
Furthermore, based on experience with a 335d I did buy afterwards, the approved warranty has proven to be a complete waste of money as well.
I have had a few different ones over the past 5 years, one of the first UK cars on a 16 plate, did over 60k with only one minor issue early on, it was quite often driven hard especially when cold, we did several trips across Europe with periods of 100-130mph.

There are a few on our company fleet and the only thing people suffer with seems to be uneven tyre wear and coolant warnings early on.

I also had one of last Shadow Editions in 2018, nearly every option but it was written off shortly after getting it but again it did its driver protection did its job, without sounding arrogant I got out of my car unharmed.

Bear in mind rims from the F30 will not fit the G20, so my guess is a "new" set of winter tyres will cost a pretty penny.

Different bolt pattern apparently.
G chassis has 5x112 compared to 5x120 before.

Anybody know exactly what the issue is with the 330e at the moment.

Visited local BMW dealer yesterday who said their demonstrators are not available at the moment.

There’s an issue with the battery welding on some cars built in July.

Well, apparently mine has finally been released after six months on order and a further month on hold at the dealers. I'm collecting Thursday. Woohoo!

Finally! Seven months to the day after she was ordered, through Covid lockdown and BMW recall, she is now on my drive (..that's not my drive in the photo unfortunately). First impressions on the 100 mile drive home with her is that this car has advanced a lot from the 1st gen hybrid. Everything seems to fit together better, battery handling is improved, range is massively improved and the car in general is much more solid than the previous gen.

Can't believe it's finally arrived!

I’m now on over 1,000 miles since new with an average of 99.9 mpg (which it tops out at, it will actually be much higher. It’s had £35 of petrol since it left the factory).

Very pleased with it.

Hope you all are too.

Hi all

Just found this thread; I'm going for a 330e SE Pro with plus pack, and was wondering whether LED headlights are standard? The BMW site is overcomplicated, shonky and crashes frequently on my MacBook and I wasn't able to find a simple spec list for it.

Thanks!

I had the chance to use the auto parking bay and parallel yesterday so I tried it.
I stamped on the brakes first time due to nerves but second time left it to it and it finished both fine. Not quite straight in the bay but acceptable.

Reversing assistant works great and completed the course I set for it.

I doubt I will ever use these features again but they work.
Still liking the car and the sunset orange is fantastic seems to change colour all the time.

Does anyone know if whatever safety issue that was preventing 330e deliveries has been resolved? I saw a picture of one in mainland europe that had a battery fire.

Also, Ford Kuga PHEV owners are being compensated for not being able to charge their cars because of a fire risk and, according the Kuga PHEV facebook group, it looks like the fix will be an expensive battery and electronics swap out.

Ford MD's message here.
