I think price will be more of an issue than range, 200km is fine for a city car, you won't be road tripping in this

Is the production model actually going to be like that? With wrap around screens and cameras instead of wing mirrors?

Audi wanted to do cameras for wing mirrors but apparently there was some regulatory issue.

It is, I assume they are not selling to USA etc so don't need to worry about that legislation

I'm struggling with this. Just appears to be a slower, less practical (legroom/headroom) and shorter range knock off of the BMW i3 yet likely to cost the same price and looks even more like a toy car?

And the dash looks like a traders desk with all of those screens. Information overload..

I do like the car but I think they have fundamentally miscalculated on the range and price. It looks like the project team managed to convince themselves that the user doesn't really want what the user wants.

From their email today "electric motor delivering approximately 150PS (110kW) and impressive torque in excess of 300Nm"

First time I've seen power figures mentioned.

It looked plenty quick enough and really good turning circle.

I can see it selling like mad in Japan

Yes apparently

I have reserved one.

I will keep it in addition to my i3.

Think it looks cool and will be a great car for around town.

I'd really love to get one of these, but the 125 mile range is just not enough. Having owned a Leaf with similar range I want something longer range now.

In winter it's going to be barely 80 miles.

i struggle to express how underwhelmed i am with this car.

They couldn't write a more 'target customer' than me.

I'm an EV early adopter, i've had an unbroken run of EVs since 2014, i change my cars pretty regularly, my present i3 is going back in literally an hour. (i know it's going to be a mistake, i love it to bits, i can see myself in another EV pretty quick) and yet, having seen real world pictures of the honda, there isn't even a twitch of desire for one.

it's utterly ordinary looking, the screens look ridiculous, the wing mirrors look worse than actual wing mirrors, the interior looks like an '80's atari, the range isn't good enough, even for a city car (it's 2019 people...) it's not going to be quick enough and it's waaay too much money. it looks like £12-14k bog standard supermini territory...........£30+k laughlaughlaugh

i can see that shiny black plastic 'grille' being a hazy mess inside of 6 months. it'll end up looking like airport rental fodder. there's NOTHING premium about it.... yuck

But it's not aimed at you, This is perfect for a 20 something still living at home with mum and dad who is used to pluging in their iphone evrey 5 minutes.

Lets say they live in Derby and work in Nottingham, a 15 to 20 mile commute that takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on traffic, they unplug it, get in it, drive to work, do sweet FA at work as they are a flaky millennial, drive back home, plug it back in. Bank of mum and dad pick up fuel bill!

They will love it, just like I loved my stty Nova!

the answer for that lot is, and always will be fiat 500....
did i mention that it will be £30++k even for debt addled millennials, that's going to be a painful monthly for them to swallow...

Honda have clearly researched the market for a 'City' car and this one will do very nicely

Had a poke around the one at Goodwood yesterday.

Bigger than I expected, seemed bigger than a Fiesta but maybe that was just perspective because it was a turntable. Looks better in the flesh for me and I love the interior but i bet it will be devisive.

Seemed to get up the hill pretty well too.

I just have a horrible suspicion it's going to be very, very expensive for the battery size, and not available in large numbers.
