Wonder what the uptake is ?
I have saw 3 Volkswagen id3 ‘s in the last week , but only the one Honda e since they launched
Uptake will (unfortunately) be very low.I have saw 3 Volkswagen id3 ‘s in the last week , but only the one Honda e since they launched
If you take my situation as an example. We had a test drive in the Honda-e last year and thought it was a super car - great to drive, peppy performance, nice interior, nice design etc.
However, when it actually came to spending real money, we decided we had to get an e-niro. Having a range of ~100 miles is just too inflexible when something like the e-niro has a realistic range of 200+ miles. Even though we would have far prefered to buy the Honda.

There's one around the corner from us. I had a squint in as I passed this morning.
What immediately struck me was the lack of a gear lever in the centre console. It's replaced by a few switches.
Quite put me off my dog walk.
You’re still in West London sometimes, right? What immediately struck me was the lack of a gear lever in the centre console. It's replaced by a few switches.
Quite put me off my dog walk.
If you ever want to take one for a spin, drop me a PM, you’d be more than welcome!

Yes, we're down in our London house this month. I may well take you up on your kind offer later in the year, once the Covid situation settles down.
Managed to test drive the following cars today;
Mini Electric - top spec 3 version. Felt very sporty and quality when I got in it. Pretty quick, didnt feel as quick as my wife's i3s though. Handles way better than the i3s though, much more planted and darty. Very impressive car, but the ride.................not pogo'y like the i3s but very very firm, it would piss me off in no time so thats been discounted
Honda e - advance model. My wife hates these, and her mate said it looked "special" but not in a good way! I really like the design so dont care what they say. Instant reaction was that it felt very high quality and grown up. Thought it was a bit slow, but nippy enough for what I want. Handles nicely, not as good as the Mini but fun. The turning circle has to be experienced, I turned the wheel to do a u turn, and it felt like a dodgem - almost turning on the spot, mental. But the real highlight for me was the ride, exceptional, I dont think I've driven a car that handles crap roads as well as the e.
So far the Honda has it, next week its e-208 and Smart eq time

Saw my first one on the road today. Blue colour. I really like the look of it. The only thing I would change is the very visible charger port on the bonnet. It would look much better if that were hidden somehow.
Where abouts? It may have been me, there aren’t all that many blue ones even in London!

Have to say, it looked really nice. Maybe it doesn't look like the concept, but I would have one.

These have been out a while now and for me the novelty has not warn off, still really like the look of them.
Any owners care to state experience so far.
Mine (white) was in the first batch into UK last year, had it 14 months. Only seen two others since.Any owners care to state experience so far.
You're right, the novelty has not worn off and I still like the look of it
It's a great second car. It's no good you want to drive to Cornwall. It's a hoot to drive around town on account of it's ability to accelerate quickly, rear wheel drive and amazing turning circle. Well built and feels 'solid', the cabin seems like that of a bigger car than it actually is.
It always gets panned on its range but it'll do 150 miles if you haven't got a ferret down your trousers when driving. I'm retired with all the time in the world so I can charge it up from the solar panels using a granny lead.
Still get lots of looks, rubbernecking and people coming up to talk about it. Lots of women look at it - in my dreams I pretend they're looking at me.
Yes it's pricey but if you can't afford it don't buy one.
