Porsche Taycan
Discussion
Reactions are amazingly positive, people pulling out camera phones where ever they see the car.
I did opt for the optional "Electric" side badge so that helps differentiate it for some who may think its just a Panamera (lol) but it is basically a 4 door 911 in terms of the way it drives and handles.
You sit very low down so much more of a sports car feel than a 4 door saloon feel. The optional Electric Sports Sound gets a lot of positive attention with people commenting it sounds like a star wars spaceship
Launch control is just insane and the wife and kids complained of whiplash after a few goes and compared it on being on a roller coaster in Orlando
Car sticks to the corners like glue which is unbelievable with the car weighing nearly the same as a Range Rover. Magnificent engineering by Porsche.
So far, driving it like I stole it and the range is around 230 miles. However, once the launch controlling stops I expect the range to be over 260 miles as someone else on the Facebook Group has posted photos of a 100% charge at 270 miles on a couple of occasions now.
It's my daily driver and is really a brilliant car.

Optional? I thought it was mandatory since about May last year?Witchfinder said:
Looks a lot better than I expected in black. I'm very envious. What options and battery did you spec?
Added around £20k of options including the Performance Battery Pack, the upgraded wheels, Bose, Sunroof, Sports Chrono Pack, Heated seats and steering wheel, Pan roof, full upgraded leather, Power Steering Plus, Powered charging port cover, ambient lighting, powered mirrors, surround cams and more.PrancingHorses said:

It's easy to go to town on a Porsche options list, there are so many tempting options (although some that really ought to be standard like folding and dimming mirrors). Your car is beautiful, enjoy! No issues with the price here £100k for a fully loaded car with all the bits I could ever want, which drives fantastically, looks insane, seats 5 with ease and gives me major tax incentives as a company car being a company director.
Tesla's have fantastic tech and are VERY fast but they are not a Porsche :-)

100k sounds reasonable. When I looked it was at least 20% more. Is that the list price or discounted? Tesla's have fantastic tech and are VERY fast but they are not a Porsche :-)
My main issue with the Taycan was practicality. Fair enough, for a Porsche it's reasonable but for a 5m car I found it lacking.
Horses for courses though, it's an amazing machine and arguably the best looking ev on the market today.
Indeed. With huge waiting lists and lead times don't see these being discounted anytime soon.
Space is absolutely fine. I went with the 5 seat option and my teens sit happily in the back and i drive with my seat all the way back. It's not a Panamera but it's also not a BMW 6/8 series or 911.
I would say the rear space is pretty much the same as a 3 series saloon.

Price aside, that looks epic.
Have to say I agree with what others are saying about pricing, having now seen the reviews and how good it looks overall.I speced up a 4S with performance battery and it came to just over £100k, expensive for sure but our X was £71k, given Porches heritage the price differential really isn't that much.
Sadly we aren't at a point in life to throw £100k on a car, but in another 5 years or so things might be different.
Owing a Taycann is very much my next target in life, hopefully before I pass the wrong side of 40 something, hell even if I have to wait for my 50th birthday it'll be worth it.
