Why are you having to wait for one? There are over 250 on sale in Autotrader, most only have a few Ks on the dash but offer a decent saving compared to new.
when i got a quote they had about 300 un registered in stock in the UK as well, but very few S models

Is it Mazda that’s moving away from having everything done via a screen now, for safety reasons?
The safety thing with screens is rubbish, Model S has been using the screens since 2012 in the US. If there was a real safety issue with touch screens the lawyers would have pulled Tesla to pieces by now.
From driving any car with a touchscreen it's pretty obvios that it's a safety issue isn't it?

+ behaviours in the US could be a poor safety indicator, seeing as texting while driving isn't even illegal in many states!!

Except Teslas crash less than other cars?

You dont need to touch the screen much whilst moving.

Auto lights, auto wipers, voice commands etc.

its not like you are making adjustments every few seconds.

Auto car like theirs, but why so many on autotrader? I guess the adds must be free or next to free so might as well advertise for a premium I guess.

Simply, I got a better deal from Jag for a new one than an nearly new with an 8-10 week wait for a factory build. I also got the spec combination I wanted.

What's your source that Teslas crash less than other cars?

I could only see tables generalised by type, like light car, van, bus etc. not by manufacturer, the UK stats are the same. I was quite interested to see the manufacturer stats if you have a link to them? There would be a few headlines there no doubt!

...US reports suggest JLR only sold 160 iPaces in the US this month. Which if true is shockingly low.

Why aren't people buying the iPace?
Jaguar's reputation of being unreliable
Too expensive
Zero charging infrastructure
Slow charging speed

Bump.

I just arranged a test drive in one of these for Saturday.

Any more views from owners?

I know they are not pitted against each other - but I need boot space and they are both perfect for my dogs (unlike the Tesla 3)

And I get the price is different and if you have Jag budget you can't get the Tesla....but if you have Tesla budget you could get the Jag...and I wanted to, if only because I've never had a Jag.

But after a day with the iPace (top marks to Jag for their test drive process.....sent an email, car turns up few days later and they come back to get it at the end of the day - no hard sell, no soft sell......er....no sell, they just quietly gave me a car for a day!) I can't get over the lack of excitement.

I gave it back thinking "hmm...nice quick car" - I gave the Tesla back thinking I'd just been for a ride in a fking spaceship.

And to nail down the coffin.....my snowflake leftie kids (who all think my V8 AMG is a noisey lump killing the planet) think getting a Tesla makes me the coolest dad in the world. Getting a Jag, doesn't.

Being a Tesla salesman just seems to be a process of saying.....when these lights change from red, plant your foot.....sold another one boss.
With "regular" cars it tends to be the case that cheaper ones are slower than fast ones so you have to start slow (as a youngster) and steadily build up to "fast" by getting marginally faster cars along the way. It strikes me that now almost anyone can get in a "fking spaceship" via Tesla which surely will end in a fireball / disaster as the driver will likely not have built up to that speed over decades? Perhaps just me, again.

TX.

Peugeot and Vauxhall would be top of the list for sure in the UK. Every time I see a car poking out of a hedge or the wrong way up in a ditch.. its a Peugeot or a Vauxhall.

I had a test drive in the iPace and loved it. The salesman’s bringing one here next week so we can check how it fits in the garage. If that’s ok I just need to get my head around the range anxiety.
