Anyone on here got the original or ordered a new 38kw one?
Just going thru the business finance on a lease for delivery Jan/Feb - crazy cheap compared to the 40kw Leaf and the BIK tax changes in April make it a no brainer to run as a company car. Im v used to EV's as it is replacing my 30k 2015 24kw leaf tekna ive had since new. Looking forward to the new tech and better range!

I bought a 2016 Ioniq (so 28kWh) earlier this year. We've previously had various Leaf's on 2 year deals, and currently also own a 2014 Leaf as a second car.
The Ioniq is brilliant. A real world 140-150 mile range in the summer, averaging 5.3miles/kWh. Leafs all averaged about 4.2miles/kWh (admittedly including winters). Ioniq lacks the all-around camera of the Leaf Tekna, but gains traffic aware cruise control, lane keep assist, and blind spot monitoring. Boot is smaller and shallower, and a smidge less room in the cabin (certainly less height). Leaf also benefits from remote fob charge port unlock.

I loaned an original for a week once. The main thing is that it's quite small compared to the Leaf. Like the Tesla Model 3 it gets its efficiency from being low and compact, so you have to really stoop down to get in.
If that's okay for you then it's a good car. The new one doesn't charge quite as fast as the old one but you make up for it with the bigger battery, and it's still faster than a Leaf. Generally speaking they are reliable and perform well.
