The problem with Tesla is that after what you mentioned above, which is completely correct, the SEC said Tesla board should monitor his tweets as a requisite.

That has not obviously happened. Why the SEC , or Suck Elon's Cock, as he said later in a tweet, has not cracked down is nobody's guess.,

He's since pumped up crypto after buying them ... how is that not market manipulation??????

The $420 going private tweet seems small fry in comparison with hindsight. He really is the Gerald Ratner crossed with Asil Nadir...

The difference is his star is still rising ...

Wait till it falls

Crypto aren't regulated markets, for one thing. The SEC can say it's "investigating" his tweets about Dogecoin etc, but I'd be surprised if they can actually do anything about it.

The SEC rules slapped down on Elon are not WHAT he tweets on, it is whether the board members of Tesla have vetted them first. That was the rule they put into place after 420.

Are they vetting his tweets, we all know that no they are not. SEC may or may not follow through. Let's see.

One of my big issues with Teslas compensation to Elon is not based on profits, it is due to how big the share price is. They have paid him billions on the back of that deal due to the Tesla bubble.

I'd rather prefer a CEO be paid on profits and sales. Not the share price, at least for the long term prospects of the firm rather than being the worlds richest man

Let's summarise Tesla on their products, which any firm has to, selling stuff. Ignoring solar and batteries.

Tesla Feb 2021.

4 model line

S type. Long in the tooth, new refresh, more power, new screens, new steering wheel
X type ... see above

3 series ... continuing with changes in prices and models

y series ... continuing with changes in prices and models

What have Tesla going forward?

Sportster... delayed to 2022

Cyber truck ... when is it going to be released ? They have 500 000 deposits for it at $100 per bang.... or do they after this time~?

The Semi truck ... when is that coming out?

Full self driving at $xxxx per car, when is that going to be released? People will be handing back their cars before then.

Another point on the latter, there is a global shortage of silicon chips at the moment, and we know Tesla are impacted the same as other manufactureres here. Their vertical integration only goes so far.

And yet they need HW level 4 for FSD it seems, and there are countless cars out there with level 2, 2.5. 3. 3.5

I'm guessing HW4 will not be good enough for FSD and eventually FSD will be done by a third party, probably Chinese or Japanese.

You forgot the other side. Solar stuff. Everyone will soon have Tesla tiles solar roofs.

There are say 1bn houses in the world. What an opportunity. Buy Tesla shares. Today.

1. VAG outsold Tesla in Europe in H2 2020.

2. In Europe Tesla sales declined in absolute numbers 2020 vs 2019.

No.

Can you point us to the posts? Who said it, what did they say

I personally am not a galaxy brain, but I said at the time, it's not polestar, but when Volvo get going that will be a threat. As its a strong middle class brand and the xc40/60 can go against the Y.

We will see but Tesla may sell even less cars in 2021 than it did in 2020. The stage is being set for a $100 stock price wink

I think you missed the memo on VW EV sales.

Didn't the industry in general suffer a serious blow in 2020?

I thought it was the ID3 that was the "big boys" coming and smashing Tesla with?

You know the ID3? the one they sold less than 3k of in January.

VW being aggressive:

"VWFS to pay early termination fees for fleets that switch to ID3, even if with a different provider"

VWFS Fleet will also include a free pod-point home charger with every eligible ID3 lease.

Yeah, lets all be a little careful with VAG EV sales in the second half of 2020. With a number of pre-orders, ramping up demand and a loyal customer base (with massive incentives), there will always be an uptick in sales for them. Tesla had a solid year and overall increased their volume (in a declining market for some reason in 2020.... cant think why!) so lets come back to the sales numbers in 3-6 months when the pent-up demand and delivery numbers have equalized out.

Its way too soon to jump to conclusions around sales numbers and volumes at the moment. Actually getting disappointed with the press reporting at the moment. What happened to reasonable data, information and assessment? Or is everything just about the click bait with increasingly sensational headlines? Yeah, I know what the answer is to that....

TBH they need to. I've just ordered my wife a new Kia e-niro - the deals on the ID3 were *much* better, but she picked the Kia even though the brand isn't as good as VW. Those early reviews for the ID3 with all their glitches and issues have not done the brand any favours.

And I've also let the team down badly... despite still thinking Musk is a prat, I've just ordered a new Model 3 Long Range. I had a test drive last week (yes, despite lockdown they are still doing test drives). And it was surprisingly good, better I would say in a few ways than the i-pace. Should arrive next month.

Congratulations. Not many deny that, roofs coming off aside, they are nice cars.

Have you gone for fsd? Or if not, will you be subscribing to it?

I am going to get them to check my car over *very* carefully before I collect it. Not gone for FSD... I am though looking to get the £1,500 performance boost upgrade, which can be done after delivery.

Not just that, in Germany apparently up to 1/3 reported ID3 "sold" were actually sold to VAG themselves.
For the Taycan the number is reported to be closer to 50%...
This of course to minimize the EU CO2 fines.
