I have a 5 year old vauxhall insignia 2.0cdti with 120,000 miles on the clock. It has never missed a beat so far and I have serviced it regularly all along. Had a major service with cambelt, water pump and tensioners at 90,000 miles. Should I keep driving it for a couple of years ( in which time it'll be up to 170k miles) or trade it in now? What, if any problems, am I likely to run into in the next couple of years?

i'd keep it. Its probably not worth a big hill of beans as is.

Keep it well maintained.

Who knows what problems you might hit, or you might not hit any.

As above, run it into the ground.

Keep it, no reason to think that just because it's now north of 100k bits will start falling off it.

Even if you have to put a clutch in it at 150k for example this is much, much cheaper than the additional outlay of swapping to a different car now which may bring its own issues.

Cheers,

Chris

hehe

That made me laugh out loud. I've one currently and they are a dull but worthy big thing.

I actually don't think it's too bad a car. I can't call it exciting to drive but it's quick enough, very comfortable and good for the 25k miles a year I do.

Agreed. I've had two now. I took the most recent one as a trade in against my Focus ST to "get the deal done", but i've been quite enjoying it. Its a 2010 160BHP SRi variant (as was the last one).

Well spec'd, looks decent, goes well. Not going to set the world on fire but a decent car.
