seen it many times, PHEV is just a gateway drug.
Love that colour combo on the 3, while I don't think it works as well on th S.
PHEV absolutely is a stepping stone to full EV ownership, it was a good intro to charging (both private and public, though obviously only low speed charging like at Tesco), it also showed just how many journeys could be full EV, even with only 32 miles of range at best.Love that colour combo on the 3, while I don't think it works as well on th S.
I have to say that the Passat GTE Advance has been a great purchase, currently worth more than we paid for it, but it’ll probably go this year in favour of an SUV EV like the Enyaq or similar.
I made a point of going for the red M3P as it’s the least common colour and as you say “just works” on the 3. I think the Y looks best in grey.

Seen it with multiple inlaws and friends, exactly your experience.
They also usually really enjoy driving their PHEV, until the ICE kicks in .

This is the key for me, and why I’d run an electric car even if they weren’t cheaper than an ICE equivalent. Do I want my Alpine to be electric? No. Do I love engines still, particularly the noise and feel of them? Yes.
But in the sort of cars I can afford to run as a daily (so not a V10 M5 estate or another 6.2l C63 estate) I just straight up prefer electric over the inevitable turbo 4cyl alternative. Smoother, quieter, more responsive, can change overnight as I am fortunate enough to have a driveway. I honestly think the worst thing about my Skoda Superb estate is the engine, if it was the exact same car but electric with a ~250 mile range and 800V architecture it would be utterly perfect.
This was mine, I managed a little under 300 miles in it (in the three months I owned it) and it was sold back to the dealer along with the saloon 4S we also bought.
You can read why here if you're so inclined:- https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/4s-ct-ow...
We're also running two Mazda MX-30's which approaching 5000 miles each haven't missed a beat and are difficult to fault as daily runaround shopping cars/dog cars.
