An interesting time to be a car fan?

On reflection, not scaring cyclists is a downside of EVs
You do scare them, but it's more of a "jump scare" rather than "monster is coming up roar" I'd still take noise over silence any day of the week though.

Around town and for everyday use silence is golden IME. Really do miss the sound of an interesting engine for a few trips though, especially if tunnels are involved.
In my old CRX vtec I don't think I ever went through a tunnel at less than 8000rpm and I always had the windows down I must have looked and sounded a prat. I was in my early twenties though so...

I've always been a massive show off when it comes to cars(which probably explains why I struggle to take to EVs). I'm addicted to loud exhaust noises and I've always been like that since I was young(my Dad having a 5.0 V8 Mustang when I was aged 7 certainly helped!).
I wish I had some tunnels near me(the best I get is going under bridges), and I enjoyed living in Cheshire because I got the opportunity to blast through the Manchester Airport tunnels in the Cerbera quite a lot.
