I have just heard back. One of the organisers for the TL site haven't heard anything of the sort!?

Having said that, it's a private campsite and not ACO run so it may be exempt (wishful thinking/famous last words I hope not)!?!

Sorry I can't be of anymore help!

However, as many have said, I cannot see how the ACO can police this even if it is the case?

I'm finishing of at work now and going to get the car ready for the trip! biggrin

See you all there!

Cheers

I thought this was the case anyway going into the circuit. If you are openly carrying in cases of alcohol then it is stopped. But just being a bit more discreet.. i.e in cool boxes or bags, then no great fuss is made.

It is a privately run event remember and they want to make money or at least remain attractive to the people who pay for their stall.

I would say it's a glass ban rather than a booze ban, so looks like we are all on the cans then....

My girlfriend has just spoken to Travel Destinations:

They said that there are rumours like this every year and that you shouldn't worry. The only official announcement from the ACO is that the police are going to be doing more random breath testing in Le Mans.

who said no glass bottles in Houx?

Last year i seem to remember no glass supposedly trackside but there's no way you could ever enforce (especially at this late stage) any notion of no stubbies in the campsites MB or elesewhere.

If i'm proven wrong, LM will not be the same ever again and neither will attendence I'm sure.

Storm in a non-breakable, ACO approved, fire retardant tea cup i think smile

May have to pack some Magners! All seems very last minute so presuming it is all Chinese whispers for now.

F*ck. We just bought 20 cases of bottles from Tesco & are staying in Houx.

Can someone please confirm the rules asap as we'll need to go buy some cans instead!!!

Never heard so much bks in my life! There's no way they will ban the booze

so stop panickin load up your motors with as much booze and hard narcotics as

you can and we'll all meet up at the free concert absolutely smashed and have

a great time.Don't forget the race goes on for 24 hours so you can spend 23 of

those drinking that warm French piss they call beer and everything will be fine.

Ban the booze ...........................get real everyone!

We are camped in Maison Blanc. Due to problems with the ticketing website that lads as all over the shop - here, here and here.

Mein fuhrer, the ACO Sir, have started confiscating bottles.

Would those who have not built a beer wall leave the room NOW.

etc. etc.
