The double next year looks like a great trip - if I enjoy this year I may well repeat next year.

Unless there's a hurricane or a plague of locusts, there's something wrong with you if you don't love it! It's ace.

I was there when we had a micro burst! Flooded everything and blew it away if it wasn’t tied down. Arrived instantly too!

Weather was lovely when I went, jolly cold at night though, if you're camping you might need to wrap up

Thanks for the tip about wrapping up. I was wondering if it got cold - the most d 20’s in the day will be pleasant though - better than snow! I’m buying all my camping gear when I get to the us - can’t be bothered to cart it all the way from the UK. A thicker/warmer sleeping bag sounds like a good idea.

Better idea CruiseAmerica have RV rental for $100 a day for between 5 and people hire. That’s total so five days car and accommodation $500!!

When I went the temps were mid-high 20s during the day but dropped very quickly when the sun went down and got down to 4 or 5 degrees, we picked up camping gear from a Wal-Mart for next to nothing, most of which we gave to the locals when we left

That’s exactly my plan - cheap kit and give it away. I thought about an RV - but fancied a mustang convertible! I’m looking forward to seeing the bmw m8 in action.

One other thing, take or buy a radio, the PA is non-existent round most of the track

There is an off license in town too on the main motorway before the lights after the supermarket. It’s does Sam Adams and other premium beers. Take a radio as said. Some areas are sandy so good shoes or flip flops! Make sure you have an alarm clock if you are known to sleep in! Race starts in the morning there! Not our civilised 3 or 4pm

Mostly enjoy it! I will go back next year after going in the early 00’s.

Was planning to go in '19 - have a longstanding invite to join friends' camping plot, but decided against it because of Trump and all the guns

I would say that Sebring is probably one of safest places. Given that you are searched on entry and guns of any sort are banned. I would say south London is more dangerous. There are parts of Orlando that are not soo good, Sebring next year is part of the WEC super season.

I've been more concerned about Spa and Le Mans the last couple of years than I ever was about Sebring, not that I'd let it put me off going to any of them.

I see the 2019 WEC race will now be 1000miles or 8 hours on the Friday. Assume IMSA 12 hours sticks to Saturday? Input welcome so I can plan the trip which Mrs Nosynchro has agreed to bank roll. Yay

Yes.

IMSA have turned the WEC into the "Support Series."
