If they keeping moving it on a week every year, by 2022 we might have a hot sunny one again for a change!
If there was actually any logic to that statement, you would be correct. Thankfully there isn't.

There ISN'T and NEVER HAS BEEN a standard date for the Le Mans 24 hour race. Come on people, it's not even always in the same MONTH! (the race start was in May for both the inaugural 1923 and 1986 races).

Over the years the it's always been in the middle of the year, ranging from the 23rd to 26th weeks (1923 and 1968 respectively).

If you look at the actual numbers the spread is:

Week 21 - 1 race (1.23%)
Week 22 - 1 race (1.23%)
Week 23 - 18 races (22.14%)
Week 24 - 44 races (54.12%)
Week 25 - 15 races (18.45%)
Week 26 - 2 races (2.46%)

Yes, more races have started in the 24th week of the year but almost half of them didn't.

A word of warning to all heterosexual PH blokes out there:

ALWAYS use a condom through all of October & early November.
This way avoids the emotional blackmail come LM24 time.
Trust me. I found out the hard way.
( Ironic puns intended! )

Surely you mean August, September and October? Nine months later you then have May, June and July.

Better to practice abstinence the latter part of the summer and whole of the autumn to be sure?

This presumably is in addition to the "no sex in September" rule, my failure to observe this has caused me to miss 2 races on or close to the 10th June, one for the birth and one for a birthday! Once my daughter is 16 she won't be bothered if her dad is around on her birthday...

You are of course both correct.
Best abstain altogether.

Unsure if someone has already mentioned it , the test weekend is now on Sunday June 9th. Quite a few people had made their plans based on the Supposed date of one week before. I find it reprehensible of the ACO not to have published this much much sooner - typical bloody frogs.
Anyway, I'll be there - it will be my 17th 24H.
best to y'all

As the FIA also has its headquarters in France you're right about the bloody frog part, but it's not the ACO's fault.

Damn it. Had leave all sorted, will make the changes now.

Can't be too annoyed, it is plenty of notice and the other dates were never official.

Cheers for the heads up. Later in the year (might) = more sun, less rain.

I hardly think two races out of all the history of the race is enough to suppose we might see future races in may or July!

The dates are always going to have to adjust, next year likely gong back to earlier in June.

Anyway, leave has been amended for the new dates.

+1 and amen to that brother. I'm just glad that it's getting further away from my best mates nuptials.

I mean losing a bit of skirt is one thing, but losing your best mate would be a tad hard to deal with.

I'd get over it obviously, but you know what I mean.
You'll lose him anyway once he's married.
