Hmm, don't see any vipers leading their Class?

MGs were much better than last year, and until they went out were 4th overall - Outstanding considering the class they were in. I look forward to next year!

Good race (15 mins to go).

Well done Bentley (yeah, okay and Audi), good effort MG, Morgan and everyone else for that matter

A big hand for Radio Le Mans (via www.autosport.com), a weak clap for Eurosport and a week of the clap for the terrestrial channels. 100 000 Brits go to see it, do you think that you'll have a problem with viewing figures?

Radio Le Mans deserve every credit - fantastic coverage. (If they can keep that up for 24hrs, how come ITV can't manage 90mins of decent motorsport coverage.)
I thought Eurosport did a good job . Several hours of the stuff, all good quality, and they had to fight with several other big sporting events this weekend e.g. it would be hard to justify binning the bike coverage.

Radio Le Mans had the footy on too which was pretty good of 'em. Even if we had a Geordie commentating (who thought Michael Owen was Emile Heskey at one point) and we couldn't understand it all

Must agree with that. Not only was the racing coverage top notch, but turning themselves into footie commentators whilst watching a french TV was simply fab!!

(For those of you not there, there were no bars / restuarants (excluding MRI of course) showing the match (I think the French wanted to ignore the rest of the games))

While we're wittering about the race generally:
Does anyone have any info on the two "film cars"?

[As far as I could make out from Eurosport coverage, some film company entered two cars (without any sponsorship) purely for the purposes of gathering race footage. ]

Yeah, Perry McCarthy was one of the drivers, look on www.4car.co.uk if there Le Mans site is still up, its under features, with a pic of Steve McQueen.

'pparently they extended the entry list by two to let the film cars in! AFAIR there are 2 cars: one goodie, one baddy, our man Perry McCarthy (that's the bloke in the MRI tent you couldn't identify, Pikey, the one with a good line in stand up) is one of the baddies. FYI McCarthy is a one time failed F1 person who Top Gear did a piece on a while back. He does well at Le Mans, may be the pay is better when you work for Jean Luc Besson (sp?)...

BTW aside from collaring McNish for an autograph, my Mum also gave Perry a kiss, after that he'd sign anything to get away...
