Don't know if it's of any interest, but I thought I'd try a toll tag this year as I'm travelling solo this year and didn't fancy smashing my wheels on the high kerbs at the toll booths ! ! !

www.saneftolling.co.uk is the site and it's €20 deposit and €6 for the month that it's used and just the cost of the toll itself.
Payable DD seems a simple solution. Ordered it on Tuesday and it arrived today - impressed so far

Had one for a while now, massive time/hassle saver...

The only drawback I've found is they're very sensitive to orientation/position (I keep mine loose rather than windscreen mounted as I often use it in hire cars), but you soon figure out the sweet spot.

One of the best things of using the French motorways.......it's a wonderful feeling, nipping past the queues at the tolls. No wonder we call it a 'smug card' biggrin

The tag is a great idea. I've had one for three years and I agree with the above comments. Friends and family also borrow mine when they go to France and find it very useful.

Saves getting out of the car and running to the other side to pay the toll too.

Saves me waking up my wife, had one for about 4 years now, and even though it only gets used for Le Mans and a single camping trip each year with the family, it is worth the extra cost for the time and convenience.

Used one of these for a few years as we go down to the south of France every summer. As has been said already very convenient and a great time saver. And the look on the faces of the French when you steam through and they're stuck in queuing in the other lanes...priceless hehe

Eurotunnel are currently advertising on their website a price deal on getting the Sanef tag.

It's a decent offer - but you have to be travelling via Eurotunnel (or be a frequent traveller) to get it.

If anyone wants one, PM me, as there is a small discount available

Just ordered one of these. Hopefully it'll work behind the heated windscreen as there is no shaded area where the elements dont go behind the rear view mirror:

I have a Range Rover with heated screen and it works fine.

Wouldn't be without our tag, it makes life so much easier using the motorways. The only annoying thing is that if I have a roof box or bikes I can't fit through the express lane so have to join the queues with everyone else.

After years of not bothering, as I'm booked on the Eurotunnel, and we're also doing a through the night drive down to the South of France in August, I've just ordered myself one - it was bought for the summer trip really, as driving down to Le Mans I've always got a passenger to pay the tolls, but my Mrs falls asleep in the passenger seat in about 5 seconds flat, so during the night on a long drive, this just seemed like an easier option than waking her up.

Good advice, cheers. A few of us are driving solo this year which for me in the left hand drive isn't too bad. But for everyone else it's well worth having sorted. Ordered mine so should save a bit of time on the tolls before we get to Rouen and hit the N138.

I like point 6.2 on the Sanef FAQs

6.2. Is there an alternative to tolls?

Yes! There are free roads if you do not like smooth, high quality motorways and don’t mind arriving late for your ferry. The N138 is our favourite, but a section of that is shut in mid June so the Brits can race cars on it

Like those above, have had one for 3-4years and are god-send, especially if travelling alone.

First use on a new trip always gives a 'will it still work....?' moment..... but of course it does...smile

Only been brave enough to try going thru at relatively low speeds. Also used to love the 'helpful' French cars warning/flashing you that you are trying to go thru the Tag lane... a lot still seem to think it's for French cars only...

I've borrowed one from friends before - it's a real boon!! I've purchased one now - it came up in an email advert from Eurotunnel..

It took no time to arrive and I've activated it.

If anyone is interested PM me, as they offered a 'friends' link whereby you both get 5 EUR credit if they link is used.
