When you park up, don't leave the tag in view on the screen or in the car. They are frequently stolen

Keep tag handy and wav e it out the window
probably worst thing you can do, keep it still and if holding by hand place against the screen.
mine works in this with no hatched area, 3ft off the ground and a nearly horizontal screen.....

I got mine last year it does save time. I was unsure if it still worked for this year so I emailed the customer services who in reply told me mine is still active and remains active for five years at this age send it back and they will replace it.

Works fine holding it. Been using a tag on French auto routes for 15 years

Yes, SEE YA, how do you do that? I've had mine since early 2011 so it's over 5 years old and it's had moderate use. I was thinking of sending to Sanef UK to get it replaced.

I wouldn't worry too much about the positioning. A Friend swears by keeping it in the glove box.

Never tried in myself though.....

Having done a little road trip through France and back a few weeks back...mine played me up a bit.
Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.
I held it up against the windscreen, and at some tolls despite going in the orange 't' lane it made me take a ticket... which meant at the next one I had to pay using that ticket... which in one or two cases had me reversing out of the 't' lane...

At one point I had traffic behind me (despite having my hazards on well it advance) and I pressed the help button and the barrier just got lifted...

I got so annoyed I put it in the centre console compartment....and at the next gate, it beeped and lifted!

I emailed them when I got back and seemed the only thing I did wrong was present the white side to the scanner...and it should be the black...so we'll see in a couple of days time whether its as simple as that..

Bit of a thread resurrection, but hopefully the right place to ask the question.

As the fuel crisis seems to have disappeared I'm planning my taking my 38A Range Rover. Does anyone know whether the toll tag works alright behind its heated windscreen elements?

Normally I'd use the large black area on the screen, but it isn't very large on the Range Rover. I'm thinking there is no other place to put it other than at the top beside the mirror.

Thanks

Todd
On my RRS, there's a section on the passenger side low down with no heating elements, I put it there and it works with no problems.

Just been out to clip this into place after working fine last year and mine is white side facing out, not black. This is the only way it clips in and it worked just fine last year.

Just re-read their mail...
Yes white side facing out...which means I had been holding it black facing out... I knew what I meant ok... getmecoat

Mine must be an old one. It's same colour both sides. Still works fine though. Mind is from Sanef France. Over the years I have phoned them a couple of times, always exercises my O level French to the max!

Is yours still working on the original battery ? Mine is about 6 years old, and just wondering when I should pro-actively replace it.
