Hey Guys, new to Le Mans but always wanted to go. I'm not a mad fan of camping and I'm also a bit worried about having to camp out with a bunch of lunatics. I have heard of one provider Team Langostein or something who advertise private trackside camping with security. They also seem to be offering ACO grandstand tickets and still appear to have some availability.

Does anyone here have any experience with these guys before I go and splash a wad of cash? Just trying to figure if it's legit or not.

Thanks for your help!

Yes Team Langoustine are a genuine outfit as are SpeedChills, Pistonheads, ThomasCookSport, and Travel Destinations.

TL are in a good place, however you can't see the circuit its self from TL, you need to go up the bank. The only site if i am correct you can camp and watch track side is Maison Blanche.

I believe Travel Destinations also can offer camping "trackside" too. Don't think you can camp next to fence though.

Have a look at the Le Mans map there are plenty of ones online show locations of campsite and see where you want to be.

BSJ is a long walk to the main part of the track
TL is at Tetre Rouge which again is a good walk to the village and the start finish straight.

I have never stayed there myself but think its worth a try. I stay on Thomas Cook sport, its quite safe in good location for the week. Takes about 10minutes to get to the start finish straight.[url]

TL is Aire Accueil Des Hunaudieres
Thomas Cook Sport are in the purple rectangle above Du Houx.
Pistonheads is on Bleu Nord
Speed Chills is at Both Bleu Sun and BSJ
Travel Destinations is at Porsche Exterieur

TL are a really good bunch by all accounts and people here speak very highly of the experiences they have with them but I've never used them myself.

The last 7 times I've been I've gone with 1st Tickets the official PistonHeads camp site and sponsor. I've stayed in their private site on Bleu Nord 5 or 6 times now and it's great. Good security, good food and good showers and bogs. They also offer a pre-erected tent with beds etc. Personally I would highly recommend Brian and the 1st Tickets crew, you can't go wrong.

I have been going with TL for 5 or 6 years now.

The camp site has secure fencing with gate security. The marquee is fun but not over the top. cold beer and hot showers and Sky TV.
loo's always clean.

A great site right next to the top of the Mulsanne straight.

don't hesitate you will have a fantastic time with a great bunch of like minded people.

Slarti, give us a call and we can explain what we are about and how it all works. We have been a partner of the ACO for 12 years, so well established and the site has been tailored year after year based of feed back from our regulars.
We have a few places available, so at the moment would be able to accommodate you.
Speak to you in due course.

UPDATE :
Thanks for all your help guys! I'm posting this update because it might help somebody else on here. I spoke to the fella over at TL and managed to score not only a vehicle pass to the campsite but also membership and seats for the ACO grandstand (plus some nice little extras too!). They charge per motor for the camping so it's a great deal if there's a few of you going. The grandstand tickets obviously you have to buy individually. Those fellas at TL couldn't do enough to help me!

Can't wait now, roll on june! See you all there

You've made the right decision to go with Team Langoustine... Have camped with them 3 years running and love it. Really good security, great atmosphere, good class of clientele, buzzing but not full of inconsiderate people, and proper toilets & showers (something you really appreciate when camping for a few days!). The campsite has it's own marquee with bar and TV too - perfect if it's raining and you fancy watching some of the race without getting drenched! The location is ideal, you're right in the thick of the race action, but can get away and relax in the confines of the site when you want to. You can tell I'm a fan can't you! Lol... Anyway, welcome to the TL experience, and I'll no doubt see you there!

I think you have done very well to get the package you have got and for a first timer you will be well looked after, the camping sites are well explained on beermountain site but everyone has there preferred choice, i always use Tertre Rouge which is right by the track. The ACO grandstand itself is usually only for aco members but the other grandstands offer pretty good views, however do not spend all of your time there as you should see the race from as many view points as you can

I managed by pure chance to get on the TL site for my first trip to Le Mans in 2010 and have been with them every year since.

The walk to the village is easy and the proximity to the track is a bonus. As said in other posts, facilities are fine and your fellow campers are a good bunch. We normally get there Thursday late afternoon and clear out on Monday morning, not sure the liver could take much longer!

Good choice. I've been with TL for a number of years now and keep going back.

Fantastic position, great people and it's the nicest way to camp in Le Mans. Clean toilets, a fantastic bar with Sky TV and security on the gate. And did i mention it's in the best position.

You wont be disappointed.

Woza.

Please don't name a thread like that again.

Hey if beardie wants to spend some of his vast wealth on a le mans entry then i would be pleased, with the factory lmp1 race looking a little empty perhaps he could back a private entry in that class

OP - essential preparation requires you to google/ read the Le Mans sock story. It's guaranteed to make anyone smile, regardless of how many times you might have read it wink

If he reads that he will probably accept a loss on his tickets and cancel everything, but on the other hand he might just make sure he wears socks even with sandels

Isnt the story of avoiding red sausage & of "taking the opportunity" when it's available for ablutions, rather than leaving it until "last-minute.com" & needing to use your sock for "non sock" purposes scratchchin

LeMans isn't LeMans if you're not camping in the rain surrounded by heavy Eurohouse music, droning generators, firework rockets at eye-level, toilet queues and cold showers. Beausejour is the only place to be.*

The luxury option certainly appealed sometimes in 2015 as we started to lose our sense of humour about the conditions, but it certainly was a giggle overall.

Hope you don't mind crowds.

It is all about the experience, and if that gets boring or to much the ACO puts on a 24 hour motor race to help pass the time

Not that you need any further re-assurance, and I can see you've been in touch with MadMac, but this will be my 7th (or even 8th!?) Le Mans with TL (13th in all - a lowly figure by many accounts on here!), so I know it wont disappoint. Andy and his team are all fantastic, and the majority of TL campers are on retention, which tells you all you need to know.
