Yes, it's that time of year folks - except this is different. Last year we were suffering a deluge until race week, and then it dried up. To put things into perspective I cut the lawn just before the Classic a couple of weeks after the race last year and didn't cut it again until this year. I haven't cut it for a fortnight as I write. The drought has been the worst I have seen, so if this continues be very careful please. it is going to get dangerous, especially if we have a recurrence of the pyromaniacs we often have. Of course, now I have committed myself to print cats and dogs will come to mind. Actually, I hope so, but only until the beginning of June for the test day.

I pack for both hot/dry and monsoon/mud bath conditions. So it's shorts, t-shirt, sun cream, wellies, thick waterproof and lots of spare clothes.

When does the tent/cat forecast happen?

I don't want to rely on anything unscientific.

Nah bad enough getting them to do the June forecast and they may take umbrage at doing another "weather ceremony " before June. This may influence the real forecast and give us a duff result for the main event smile

Accuweather.com has long range forecasts upto 90 days. At the moment Le Mans looks like being in the low 20s and mostly dry. Will almost certainly change though.

OK ere tis tent went up for test erection Saturday cat ignored tent so barby went on and a few beers sunk. Then cat noticed tent and circled around the tent sniffed at the back end walked around the front............
And................wait for it
N.B
For those not aware of the cat forecasting result rules they are listed below
1. Cat enters tent from the front Le Mans 24hr 2017 weather will be hot
2. Cat enters tent from the rear Le Mans 24hr 2017 weather will be wet

So I hereby announce that the results of the 2017 cat/tent forecasting ritual are …….

CAT IN AT THE FRONT ---- SCHORCIO!!!!

Usual caveats apply as cats are notoriously devious

Have a good un all and enjoy the greatest race on earth whatever the weather

The Cat and the tent below smile

Glad your test erection went well...hope it still works at Le Mans for you. I'm not expecting I'll need one myself in place surrounded by petrol heads, but you never know...

Nice one! Love your cat when it promises me good things.

But... Dry? That means a dusty houx. I'll be cleaning it out the car mats for months!

Purrfect. I've chucked my tent and wellies in the bin - I'll be sleeping under the stars. In a ditch.

Good cat.

Tend not to spend much time here until the big run-up, but I woke up this morning and remembered the cat forecast. Thanks for keeping it up!

Aaand now I'm stuck here for the next three weeks.

No worries JT3K always adds a bit of fun to the yearly LM kit inspection and looking at the long range forecast the cat may be bang on

fingers crossed or should that be Paws smile

Spent the bank holiday weekend down in Dorset had one mother of a thunderstorm Friday night and torrential rain last night, tent in a heap in the garage waiting for the weather to clear to dry off, hope that my cat is right and the weather will be better for the June date smile
