Aside from using the agencies who try to sell you everything under one roof (camping, tickets etc) does anyone know if / where you can hire bicycles at the circuit itself?

Bsj had folding bikes for rent at €80 for the week, or part of week. I got my bike for £72, it's done 4 LM now.

I saw bike hire at houx annexe entrance.

I think you're mad tho. Gumtree a 20 quid bike, risk much lower.

Given you can by a folding bike for €160 or a fixed one for €120 from Decathlon €80 for a few days doesn't seem like much of a deal!

A quick google suggests there are a few other cycle hire places in Le Mans, e.g. https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&s...

Make sure you have a decent D-Lock to protect it. Steel Cable locks are not immune to the Bolt Croppers.

Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated.
I paid £50 for 2 days (bargain) from one of the "tour companies" who like to book everything for us, but as I won't be using any of them in future for anything I'll need to sort my own bicycles.

I'm booking my own stuff because I don't like the tour companies sites / package holiday / holiday camp set up. I now have everything sorted except bike hire.

I would be much better off bringing a bike. I looked at folding bikes, very cheap on ebay. I even considered building a bike I could bolt together etc.

The issue I've got is space, I'm in an XKR, my mate is in some sporty Lexus. 3 adults and 2 teenagers between the 2 cars. 5 bikes, how do you do it?

Bike hire is the simplest solution. I don't really want to sacrifice the drive down in my boring Passat estate just because I want to get p1ss3d when I eat out on the Mulsanne straight in the evening. Its only a 45 mins walk. However bike would be good for Friday pit lane walkabout and museum, as well as Saturday evening.

I too found bike hire in the town, but it would be a bit of hassle picking them up and dropping them off again.
Bike hire at the circuit ticks all the boxes. I'll be saving so much not using a tour company that I could probably afford to buy new bikes and just dump them :-).

The hire place at Houx Annexe also rented those little kids scooter things, the French word for which, I learned, is Trottinette.

We were at BSJ...I never noticed any bike hire. All i came across was a big security zone inside the entrance.
Is the bike hire normally inside or outside the entrance? I wasn't looking out for it so may have missed it.

I think it's normally on the right just after security.... I think I saw it -but am not certain!
