Just pre-booked my pitch with 1st Tickets again today!

LMP1 or not , i am really looking forward to it. Myself and the mates who travel are slowly iterating the model and adding new things to discover each year

next year we are going to do a helicopter circuit lap .....

cant wait

Just waiting on my cousin to make a call for me in French and I can go ahead and book my crossings.
I've realised with the whole LMP1 thing, as long as there's a race I'm up for it, but hopefully a solution involving the US spec cars will make itself available. Can't wait.

One of the best races I went to was 1995 without a prototype in sight if I recall correctly - or maybe they were all little ones and broke down before the finish.....

Yep, lots of people running around wailing and self flagellating over nothing much. Le Mans has been here before and will doubtless be here again. If this IS the end of LMP1 then it's very similar to the end of Group C - the end of one era and the start of another. Yes it will be different and people who can't handle change won't like it but as much as I wish I'd been going to Le Mans in the Group C days I also wish I'd been going to watch the McLaren F1 GTR/Porsche 911 GT1 days that followed them.

There will be a Le Mans 24hr in 2018 and I'll be there to watch it.

Missed 2016 because of my son's birthday and there seemed to be something missing this year. Can't say what but I came away feeling a little empty, just couldn't get any enthusiasm. All of the photos are sitting unlooked at and not on my site.

We're going to skip 2018 and 2019 and are going to Daytona in Jan '19 instead. Need to try something different and return to Le Mans refreshed with the new 2020 regs

Maybe rethink that after today's announcement - and consider Sebring in March, vs desolate Rolex 24 at Daytona in January.

Sebring will be a "two-fer" in 2019, with the IMSA race on Saturday 10.00am-10.00pm and the WEC race on Sunday from 12.00am-12.00pm.

The weather is better (Daytona is notoriously rainy and cold at night), the party is bigger and the spectator access and proximity to the track is far superior.

Miffed as I am that Silverstone has been dropped I can feel a trip to Sebring coming on for 2019

We're having our post LM17 curry shortly & the discussion over who wants to do the trip next year will ensue - for some, the loss of LMP1 cars might be too much, though for the newbies, they've indicated they want another trip.

Way ahead of you on that one smile

Have made a provisional booking. Bit disappointing with what is happening but there was lots of moaning about 2017 entrants and it turned out to be a really good year. Just being there is enough.
