All tickets booked and paid.

Still don't have a car.

The leaving date seems to be approaching rather quickly now. Still, I guess it's only a small detail.
Mine went in for a service and MOT 3 months ago – and it’s still not finished.

I’ll contact Avis – see if they can do us a deal on a couple of rentals.

That’s great – you all coming down in separate cars? And do you need to be somewhere by a certain time? If so, let me know as I can look at tweaking the final leg to suit.

Hi all,

It looks as though we don’t have any takers for meeting points 2 or 3, so the arrival time at meeting point 4 can be brought forward by around an hour. This may affect you Lord.Vader, but as you’re arriving in Caen early in the morning, I’m hoping it just means you’ve less time hanging around – let me know if this presents a problem for you though.

Bebee and eastsider (Jag) – do you know which crossings you’re on yet?

For those definitely coming, please send me a PM with an email address I can use to send out information.

Sorry Miner49er, unless circumstances change, I'm having to pass this year. Have a good trip but there is a small chance I might still make it but likely under my own steam.

Hello, yes I think I arrive really early in Caen, like 6am, I haven’t planned anything so if the meeting point is somewhere scenic (... ?) or at least something nearby we can relax there for a few hours, no rush !

ETA; would a whatsapp Group or large distribution mail be best to coordinate?

We should be in two cars between the four of us, just waiting on confirmation on what we'll be getting our hands on smile It would probably be handy to get to LM a bit earlier for us, so it there's a cut off option towards the end that might be helpful. But don't worry if not!

There’s quite a bit to do in Caen to waste a few hours. If you get bored though, you could take a drive out and join us at meeting points 2 or 3…
Meeting point 2 at 12:00pm, which is 100 miles from Caen
Meeting point 3 at 1:45pm which is 40 miles from Caen.

Unless I hear otherwise, I’ll assume you’ll just meet us at meeting point 4 as planned.

Regarding emails, I usually just BCC all participants as I’m aware some people would rather their personal details not be disclosed. I’ll create a WhatsApp group if everyone agrees - perhaps when you all send me your contact details, just add a note if you’d be happy being added to the group.

The last meeting point to Le Mans will take around 2.5 hours - you could reduce this by an hour if you stick to main roads and autoroutes.

At the moment, we don’t have anyone joining us at meeting points 2 or 3, so if that remains the same, we should arrive in Le Mans around 4:30pm.

Please add me to the list. Will be in a 991.2 GTS Cab. Probably meet at Calais but wed night in Abbeville sounds like a good plan. Crossing not booked yet.

Tesla/TVR can be dropped from my group for now (not heard from them - suspect they'll be autoroute direct LM in the tesla for early tent pitching/BBQ lighting!).

All the rest of us are for the first meeting point as correctly listed.

Also are there any plans to use radios across the group? Need to ensure we're all on the same frequency - just faffing programming mine. Might be better to discuss on email - will drop you a line.thumbup

Thanks for the update and email received.

Daxed and I have radios and will lead and sweep in order to keep the group together. Not sure how complicated it’ll be to reprogram them all on the day to work together though?

Hi

We will not be able to join the convoy now.

We are looking for a house and have a couple of areas we want to visit on the way down. You never know our paths might cross so if you see a black S2 Exige say hello.
We will be with Club Le Mob parked in the infield and on the track laps not sure which day yet.

Good luck with the house-hunting!

Hey all,

I've been trying to rope some ringers in to get down to the Classic this year but haven't got any takers(they're only interested in the new stuff...losers 😉).
Can I join your convoy?
Basically, I'm looking for some folks to travel with me to save on ferry/camping costs.
Please redirect me if I've come to the wrong place...first post on this forum!
All help appreciated cheers!

Hi Dave, you're more than welcome to join us for the convoy.

Regarding car and tent sharing, you may get a better response starting your own thread in the main Le Mans forum. There's also an FB page running for this year's event, so that may be worth joining too.

Thanks Miner.
Haven't used my FB account for years so this is a good opportunity to gear it up again!
Let's see what I can stir up on FB and get back to you regarding the convoy.
Thanks

Hi all,

The Classic is getting closer and with all the talk of the main 24hr event, I thought I’d just bump this back onto the first page.

Currently, we don’t have any takers for the Dieppe or Le Havre meeting points, so I may adjust the route to avoid the towns I’d planned to stop in. I’ll leave the option open for a few more days. Lord.Vader, as a result, we may arrive earlier in Caen, but I’ll keep you updated.

For those who haven’t forwarded me contact details, please do, as I’ll be sending out emails soon. Those with TBC against their names, feel free to fill in the gaps.
