Just watched 94, wow the GT classes back then were incredible. Such a variety of cars, just imagine the sounds from a Bugatti to a Detomaso Pantera via a few Honda NSX's and NIssan 300's. Throw in a bunch of Venturi's an Alpine A610, F40's and a Viper.
Spur of the moment decision, got home late afternoon from work, then Girlfriend came in, I asked her what our plans were for the weekend, 'Nothing' she replied, Booked ferry, drove down through the night and arrived in Le mans 6am the following morning .....Brilliant.
No tent, no camping gear of any kind, slept for a couple of hours on flattened out cardboard boxes at Maison Blanc, Girlfriend slept on back seat of the car.
First time I had Seen the RT/10 Vipers racing, I was hooked! biggrin
Weather was Awesome.

I've recorded all of these but have only watched up to about 1950 something. I was getting a little tired of Mr Chumley Warners voice.

if we are up to the 90's then I really need to start watching again. I was there from '92 for a few years.

I enjoyed Monday's episode, with Alan McNish (or MacNish that year wink) going through the 1998 race with Martin Haven.

Tonight's 1999, the one I've been looking forward to since the series started.

I did a similar thing in 2005... there is/was a cheap one day entrance ticket you can buy on Sunday morning.

Anyone know why the early 2000s films are commentated by someone who doesn't know the circuit? Really started to get on my tits seeing a car run in to the gravel at Mulsanne, knowing that any second the commentary would tell me "such-and-such went off at Arnage". Or that "After the chicanes were added to the Hunaudières this is the fastest section of the track"...as you watch a car on the run out of Arnage and up to the start of the Porsche curves, rather than the run between Mulsanne and Arnage?
