Bringing alcohol into the camp sites?
Discussion
I haven't been to LM24 since 2015 and at that time (I camped in the Thomas Cook site) there were security guys (not actually on the TC site, but on the track toward it) searching car boots and making everybody remove any glass bottles before being allowed to go any further. Is this still the case? Is it just a ban on glass bottles, or alcohol in general? I really hate canned lager 😖
Last year we were searched on the way in the first time. I have no idea what they were looking for, but didn't find anything!
Thereafter, once we'd got our sticker on the windscreen we came and went with. O further searches.
They don't allow any alchohol I side the track, if you enter on foot - again one is searched. I don't know what they do if you are camping inside the circuit.
Enjoy - the race and your bottled beer!

If your campsite is within the GE area then supposedly there is a glass bottle ban, however we had no problem getting some in, but we also took wine boxes/barrels and tins incase we got stopped, however i think we were stopped in the car once. We were often stopped as we left the campsite onto the track and on finding any glass they sent you back into the campsite to leave the bottles.
We always stay in Garage Vert, which is inside the circuit. Cans are fine but if they search hard and find glass it is taken away. The search does only seem to be on the initial arrival, after that they don’t seem to bother.
As we are inside the circuit it is much more convenient as we can carry our own beer to the start.

Last year they were stopping any beer going into the track area. Was a massive pita.
Of course there are says round it, but the pollavah of doing a beer over the wall and recover run every time really distracted from the normal event.
Campsite was fine, no bother even with glass (which is weird because you'd has been can only for several years)

This thread has me thinking. Is there a route from Houx to track without going out and in again?
Can't take beer from site via the entrance to track near karting nord because that was searched. Exit and down the road / in by annexe is effectively out and in again, so you're knackered.
If you go up towards the activation area (past airtrack) do you actually have to deal with les security? OK it's a bit of a ballache on bikes with 2 bridges, but it would avoid the need to send 1 team member each side of a perimeter wall and throw beer over...
And yes, as poster above said last years searches into houx were no where near as passionate as previous years.

We had to do the fence thing last year from Houx. Huge coolbox with a couple of bottles of water and a beer in hand. Downed the beer for effect then went back and collected 30 odd bottles through the fence. Stubbiest fit!! Almost like they are designed that way! Can't take beer from site via the entrance to track near karting nord because that was searched.
