Hi Jack, I'm going with a couple of non PH drivers to LeMans. I notice there are only circa 60 people signed up currently for this SS. Provided they meet the criteria car wise, is it okay for them to join the PH section?
Absolutely – PH is free to join after all, so they're more than welcome to create a profile and get signed up!turbo-ww said:
They have been a victim of their own success.
I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole until something changes as the traffic is dreadful.....
When did you last go? It was significantly better last year with the addition of the shuttle service.I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole until something changes as the traffic is dreadful.....

Any more news on the shuttle?
I asked last year and never heard a peep more about it. I didn't even realise it had run.
Would be good to know the pickup locations and times.
Thanks
p.s No traffic problems last year whatsoever. Was a good event.

Just to add a comment to the traffic discussions above, we have been going to the CBW for a few years now and in 2017 traffic was no problem at all. We did get there by 09.30 in the morning and parked in the big field opposite the entrance. Don't think its always been the case but going to leave now is all one-way - getting out under the railway bridge was a nightmare. Now everyone is sent up the hill through the village, it was signposted all the way out and it brought us back onto the D338 on the ring road by the big hypermarket in Le Mans. No issues at all. Maybe we were just lucky but things have improved if you have not been for a few years!
Had some further info and map from David regarding the Park & Ride - see below;
There will be Park & Ride service at Classic British Welcome. It will operate all day and it is a free service for all. It helps to ease congestion around the site of the event. It is based just outside Saint-Saturnin, near to the A11 motorway. From the motorway take the D338 towards Saint-Saturnin. Turn left at the first roundabout onto Rue Lucien Chaserant. Then, follow the signs for "Classic British Welcome, Park & Ride".
Cheers!

Is it not working for you? Let me know and I'll look into it for you The technical team have been notified."
I know it is usually unacceptable to have your name on the list and not turn up, but given the lack of numbers I was hoping it may be acceptable this time...
One of our group's car doesn't fit the criteria, and we don't have enough seats to get everyone in. On that basis we're not 100% sure what we're going to do, but would still like the opportunity depending what happens on the day.

I rather think they have killed it with their criteria... obviously if your not a bierded director driving a super car your not welcome at a PH meet. One of our group's car doesn't fit the criteria, and we don't have enough seats to get everyone in. I’m sure that’s not the message they were trying to send - but that’s what they managed....
Disregarding the usual shambles in organisation in terms of circulating things before people travel..
so im thick... i guess..
teh park and ride goes from where to this..
from the circuit or tram to lemans then park and ride. the map shows the location in santorini to get back, but what about getting there..
last year i got the tram and then bus. had a bit of wait for the bus, but utterly brilliant show.. beers were flowing music playing, cars everywhere.

I'm so sorry everyone about not sending the email out on Friday, I was super busy and the email slipped my mind... I've sent it out to everyone now, but let me know if you don't receive it as I've had one or two bounce backs.
Regarding the park and ride, I'll ask David if he can jump on here and give some more clarity!
Cheers

PARK AND RIDE:
Hi everyone, and sorry if there has been any confusion about the Park & Ride.
I won't bore you with the reasons but it has been difficult dealing with the heavy rain and we therefore advise many of you to use the FREE Park & Ride Service, as we will have reduced parking on site.
We will assess parking at the site on Thursday, and will try to ensure we have an area for PH cars if we can.
The map shows the location of the FREE Park and Ride. Drive your car to this point and we will take you via shuttle to the CBW site about a mile away. We will drop you off, and pick you up from the same place.
There is no tram to the St Saturnin side of Le Mans, so this is not an option unfortunately.
Regarding allowable cars, some of you, who were not sure, have taken the time to email and ask, and I think we have sorted all the requests. We don't want to discourage anyone from coming, but it is not a classic and sports car festival if we allow anything onto the site. I hope you agree with this.
Please be aware that Le Mans has experienced heavy rain in the last two weeks and the region is very wet and we will lose parking area at the site. We will try to do the best we can but we will never keep everyone happy no matter how hard we try.
Many of the campsites at the circuit are experiencing difficulties and not getting a lot of help, so I advise you to come prepared.
If you have any questions about the site, please email me at info@classicbw.org. It is good to hear the vast majority of you have had no problems getting in or out, but if 100's of people arrive or leave at the same time there inevitably will be delays.
Have a safe trip down to Le Mans and we hope you enjoy the whole weekend whatever you choose to do.
Regards
