Are there any checks in place to access the campsites or could anyone walk into Bleu Nord and take a shower?
The only access control to the ACO campsites is for vehicles, to stop people driving in and getting free camping. For sites 'outside' the circuit anyone can walk through the gate, around the site and use the facilities. It's much the same for those 'inside' the circuit with the exception that you'll need a GE ticket - but if you don't have one of those you have a VERY unusual way of 'doing' Le Mans!
We've found increasingly they want to make sure you've a GE to get on to any site. Doesn't matter if you're camping there or otherwise.

That's good. Hope that continues.

Humm, I've been on either Bleu Nord or Sud for the last 6-10 years and NEVER been asked for my GE ticket. It would be good if they did - shorter walk back from the campsite gate to tent than from the MB entrance... Had to make that walk of shame more than once frown

Likewise. Hopefully they'll start doing it there too.

Nothing to stop you using the shower blower on the maisonette blanch entry to the circuit (car entry to the camp site) turn hard left when you enter, when I used to camp there you got loads of people with back packs (clearly not staying on the site) using them.

Hope that helps

Watched the security turn someone away from the showers and toilets on Blu Nord last year. It looked like they had slept in their car in the carpark.

Make sure you take flip flops. I couldn't stand barefoot in those for even a lot of money
