The post LM2019 downer antidote is: booking Sebring for March 2020!
It'll be 4 of the LM crew, including me, going to Sebring. Arrive Tue 17 Mar 2020 and ship out Sun 22 Mar 2020 via Orlando.

The post LM2019 downer has become the pre LM2020 upper...lolz

Hints and tips would be very welcome!

2nd time for me, 10 years on, staying off circuit this time.
Top tip - be prepared for the temperature to drop 20 degrees C in a couple of hours at sunset

This is a thread from a while back, that might answer a few questions.

I've been going to Sebring for more than 20 years - the first 3 from the UK.

Come see us at Turn 10...

This is a fairly lengthy watch, but will tell you all you need to know.

https://vimeo.com/37599014

The video was created about 10 years ago, but so much of it still applies. We lost a couple of core members - Norm Kourey and Dave Baxter - and gained a couple more, me included. Turn 10 is just as much a state of mind as it is a corner on an old racetrack.

Sebring is a very, very special event - and like Le Mans, very few people only go once. It just gets under your skin.

If you need any specific tips on what tod do before and after the event, RV rentals, logistics, staying out of jail etc., just let me know.

Question for Matt, we're coming out on the Saturday before, is there anything else going on in the area motorsport-wise before the action starts at Sebring? I'm guessing if there is it'll be on the Sunday, short-track / midgets, that sort of thing

It's a little early for defined schedules - and I'm not much of a short track fan, but both New Smyrna Raceway and Citrus Raceway (Tampa area) have meetings most Saturdays during the spring months, as do Orlando Speedword and Lakeland Drags - though these are more usually on Friday evenings.

Are you flying into Orlando or Tampa? Gainesville FL is easier to get to from Tampa than from Orlando - and the Gator Nationals (NHRA top fuel drags) is on the weekend you arrive - so you could attend two world-class events while you are here. This is unusual as the Gator Nats usually clashes with Sebring. I will definitely be going to both.
