Seems a lot more expensive this time, I'm sure I paid around £320 last year and for as long as I can recall but it's well over £400 today

That does seem expensive. You could try St Malo...gets in an hour later so you get more sleep, very nice ship, was slightly cheaper last year

I've travelled Brittany for many years to go to Le Mans but this years price rise is horrendous, almost double what I paid last year - which was admittedly on a 'special deal'. Although I live in Somerset it will make more sense next year financially to do a Chunnel crossing even with all the extra mileage involved. I spoke to Brittany today who intimated there may be some special deals coming up in the next month or so - so I will hold off booking my channel crossing for a while in the hope that there might be some more reasonable fares.

Just thought I would add that Portsmouth to St Malo out and Cherbourg - Portsmouth back wth a cabin on the outward journey now comes out at £515. Last year this was £309 but last year that also included one nights B&B in a hotel in France as well!

Must be cheaper do drive and hotel via Dover / Calais im guessing?
I actually prefer sailing Dover / Calais...it just feels more Le Mans. I do the St Malo thing for other people when I do it, and because it is such a cool ship.

Wonder why its getting so expensive?

That is cheap. We are going that way this year anyway because we plan to visit the old Reims F1 grandstand and pits. Always like to return Calais / Dover, but the late start / finish time messes up my plans, might overnight in Rouen, still thinking about it

Been watching it a few weeks as its been sitting about £150 which is high. Usually I pay sub £100 but didnt want to risk it with Brexit etc so booked it now at £100 job done.

I think the late start / finish will scupper a fair few peoples darts for crossings back to the UK

Brittany Ferries has just announced special offer prices. Its still more expensive than last year but for two people and a car a Thursday evening Portsmouth -St Malo night crossing out with a cabin, return Cherbourg - Portsmouth on the Monday and with a nights hotel accommodation included on the Sunday evening comes in at an offer price of £322 (last year £309) which I think is a good deal - so I've booked it!

Especially as the Ch-Po run is just 3 hours!

I've been looking for 3 trips next year and it does seem more expensive though (and I have the Club Voyage thing)

I'm a CV member too and am just pondering as to a 2020 visit to LM.

Quote from Brittany for two of us on the high speed Portsmouth route, leaving Thursday morning and coming back Monday afternoon was £224 all-in, didn't seem a bad deal to me.

That seems a great price - how much is CV and what sort of discount does it give?

£150 for the first year and £75 renewal thereafter.

I got it last year as we had 5 trips to do - It saved me (and folk travelling with me) in excess of £500

As above^^^^^^^^^^^pretty much pays for itself on this trip alone. Your chums can then use the number to get a slightly less generous discount but still worth having.

Just sign up for marketing emails with the ferry company. Most send out offers straight after Christmas, for bookings made in January, to get some early cash in for the summer.
