The elastic band broke trying to keep up with the T V R s
I thought I was doing quite well considering I was three up, and with a boot and back seat full of everyone else's gear they didn't have room for in their TVRs!
And being chilled at a steady 18 degrees
And getting 27 mpg
And I didn't even bother taking a toolkit, let alone any spares.
Starmist and the rest of our lot!
Just read this through, first day back at work....an accurate account of our Le mans experience apart from Glyn being called Glenn!
Just to update you all, despite three separate people (my beutiful wife Ginny, Glenn's wife and myself) being informed by the Passport Agency Helpline (contradiction if I ever heard one!) that I would not get a replacement passport for at least 7 days; unless it was a life or death situation the passport was replaced within 4 hours.
O.K I had the completed form, police reports, birth/marriage certificates and loads of supporting documents but why did they put us through all that stress? - rant over!
Either way I made the family holiday and the British Grand Prix after all!
Despite loosing the cash/passports/camera'a and all of my GP tickets....many of which were signed... no one got hurt.
My 4.3 chim with 84k on it ran like a dream our run back to the sunny Nuneaton on Saturday was made at an excellant pace roof off all of the way, used no oil and did over 25mpg!!
The experience was good dispite our stuff being lifted, both Glenn and myself feel that there is some unfinished business in Le Mans .....
So here's to next year, might even get to see the race!!
Cheers,
Steve G,

Steve G,
Dave, Im in Maison Blanche with the TVR Great Unwashed (Surrey TVRCC to you), but am planning on making a few trips over to see the Kent/Sussex lot (for free beers ) so I will try and hunt you down. Im assuming I cant get my car in to Houx, so I'll have to come on Shank's Pony (easier on the drink drive problem too )
Maybe we can meet up with both cars on nuetral territory for a photo opportunity?
