Looks like they've just closed doors. No spectators at all. frown

I suggest in about 3 weeks start a new version of this thread. So few of us will go if it even happens that it would be rude not to meet up for a drink and a group photo

Agreed, my plan is to head down and stay at my normal haunt and watch it in local TV

I'll set one up 10 days to go - be interesting to see how many there are - less than 20 I would guess.

Is anyone still actually planning to be there? Quarantine at both ends now makes me wonder - who is the maddest on the forum? NB: Living in France doesn't count

Still not cancelled yet, down to two. Not looking good, but to be honest, would it differ much to here? I know La Sarthe is red, we’re aware of restrictions, etc etc, could have UK road trip, or just have LM road trip.

Considering the NC500 followed by 2 nights with the group for race viewing, weather forecast could decide what happens. Other than that looking at road trips to Brooklands, Gaydon, Donington and a few others.

3 of us who were apart of the 8 going to LM24 decided to switch to a weekend in Spa instead; the same dates. Since Belgium also has the same CV19 restrictions we’ve just moved it to Cocham, Germany. This is until CV19 restricts us then we’ll have to look even further away.

Still going. Did consider other options, but a road trip to our offsite gaff sounded much better. Got the Firestick for Eurosport Player, hotels were booked, tunnel couldn’t be moved, accommodation are very understanding, so just thought what the hell. Face mask and hand sanitiser at the ready, see what happens.

Yep, same plans as per June, head to Ashford on Monday, stay in Deauville Tuesday, down to Le Mans Wednesday, 4 nights there, back up to Boulogne for Sunday night. Then 2 weeks isolating at home. Gets me out of shopping for a fortnight!

Nice one, you are officially the maddest person on this forum...although I keep expecting to see Tyre Smoke single hand idly sailing a caravan across the channel to gain some sort of French citizenship just to avoid quarantine. Where is he anyway?

Reading the regs just now it seems you don't have to quarantine in France?!?!? If I'd known that I might have taken a chance and gone myself :-). Having seen the Moto24 the way it was this year I'm reasonably happy staying put, but I'll miss the places I go to eat for sure, and the sense of going somewhere. The XKR is in my garage as I'm carrying out some more surgery (stupid Leyland st), wouldn't be the same driving in a Passatt Estate.

I'm off to a house we've hired near Silverstone, big screen, kitchen, pubs nearby.

Hope you post up photos of what will be the weirdest Le Mans ever I expect.

Correct. No quarantine on entry to France and no essential travel evidence required. On return family don’t need to isolate so they can go to work and school. Eurotunnel offer COVID travel insurance so will look into that at weekend. Got Firestick so Eurosport Player for race day if we don’t get a view anywhere, I like to think we will. It’s going to be fun spotting other Brits who also make the trip, expect to see a few GB stickers driving about.
