5 days to go to the start of the LM 24 Hours. As I leave home on Wednesday, this is the time when the excitement builds, watching the early arrivals pitching tents, the "we're off" thread showing this years stickered-up master pieces, the speculation whether we will be able to get glass into the campsite (we always do), whether the cat has said that the weather will be good or bad, and in my group usually a WhatsAPP message from somebody asking what they need to bring despite heading down every year for the last 35 years!
This year... a few threads on on the Eurosport feed and LowDrag giving us updates from the local area (thanks Lowdrag, you may have saved me money in counselling!). Is everyone else feeling as Glum as me?

I'm narked that were not going to get to see Thursday mornings session but otherwise bearing up. Having been on site bright and early Sunday, Monday is usually spent rearranging and fettling the gazebo, so have spent this morning doing the same to my shed

I'm looking at the positives this year such as being able to follow the race itself more closely than usual.

Ive booked a house with a mate of mine...loads of booze and steak packed just like for Le Mans.
We will be watching everything on the big screen without having to endure the rain. I'm looking forward to it

Utterly. Had plans to get together with some of the LM crowd and do an at home version. Then the law changes and it's illegal.

Currently trying to work out how to watch it this year, eurosport don't seem to be covering it on SKY, so I guess it's some sort of Eurosport player job?

Eurosport are covering it,everything apart from the 1st free practice session, if you haven't got them on your package it's Eurosport Player or the WEC app

...and for those friends to not have wives or kids in tow!

Family of 5 here, Boris says we can't have friends anymore. A friend, yes. But not more than one, and deffo no couples.

Simple, just invite your Le Mans chums to a grouse shoot this weekend, all is then above board

I want to still feel excited for the event and make something of the weekend, but I think it is going to feel a bit hollow and strange watching it on the TV. I will certainly miss the journey there and the social aspects of being in France.

My daughter is starting at University on Sunday, so I can't even watch the stream uninterrupted... looks like I'll be watching the race on a mobile phone from a car on the M4 this weekend!

Sorry, but all good here. Vette ran like a dream from Yorkshire to Ashford yesterday, today we head to Deauville for a night before hitting the N138 to Le Mans on Wednesday. Just realising that Stella was not the drink of choice last night, I never learn. It’s going to be a weird one, that’s for sure.

Err if i'm correct, they are not allowing spectators at the circuit? So are you driving down there just to be in the area? No corvettes running, so whats the point?

Why not? Week off work, week with a mate who I’ve not seen for months, good road trip for Corvette, enjoy race, maybe helicopter flight, visit museum, see town, all good.

We’re a bit south, keep it quiet as it’s a class place, happy to meet up anywhere, arrive tomorrow. Beer ahoy. Hi

Leyorkie has a very good set up in his local town, I strongly recommend you ask him about it. We go there as a Friday night excursion for dinner!

For you or anyone feeling glum about Le Mans I have the perfect cure - just buy anything made by JLR - it will keep you so busy with the spanners you won't have time to get depressed about anything else. It's worked for me a treat.
