or you or anyone feeling glum about Le Mans I have the perfect cure - just buy anything made by JLR - it will keep you so busy with the spanners you won't have time to get depressed about anything else. It's worked for me a treat.

I shall be watching the start - but I can't tell you where! Can I be bothered to carry the 10 kgs of equipment to show you the photos? Frankly this year I don't think so. Everything that so far I have seen has depressed me, from talking to teams and marshals. I think I''ll be at home watching Eurosport,

It is feeling pretty weird watching it on TV and not being there.

Going to make the most of it as best I can, but feeling a bit down thinking of the usual routine and what we’d be likely doing at certain times.

Woken at 2pm by the rain hammering down. Is this a prelude the race? The weather forecast has been a yoyo for the last 48 hours, and now indicates possible storms this afternoon and again odd showers or perhaps storms for tomorrow. That might sort the men from the boys or indeed the women from the girls. I shall do a tour and take a few photos today of some of the usual haunts, the camping sites, and so on since hopefully it will be the only time I shall see it like this.

ETA:- And 'Vette, good to meet you both yesterday and if you are there today then the drinks are on me this time. however, after you left I had a chat with the bar owner and apparently the ACO were keeping a close eye on the bars on the Mulsanne straight, and the owner had a call on Thursday from the ACO telling him in no uncertain terms to get rid of the people watching from the upstairs window or else the BiB would be calling so that option may well be out too.
