Still cant see much capacity for spectators, frances numbers are going up the vaccine role out is still very patchy even if by august the whole uk is vaccinated will the French government allow mass movement is any ones guess. There is talk of the French rugby team being forced to bow out of the next 2 6 nations games as the team breached covid regulations.

L’equippe are reporting they’ll be a minimum of 50,000 apparently.

There was mention on Radio Le Mans last night of 50,000 being the minimum viable number for the ACO, could be a negotiating position with the authorities of course

I’m sure the French will be terribly keen for those to be British.

I’m slightly gutted in a way, June running means I can’t go anymore (job). Running it on August would be amazing as I could actually go but I somehow doubt that would be possible

August delay should have some ripple impact on the F1 schedule too I would expect.

The new date doesn’t clash with F1. I don’t expect anything to change.

The middle of August has the potential to be jolly warm
That was my first reaction - "Geez, it's going to be even hotter when the sun hits the tent at 8am!". smile

What will be the dusk/dawn hour differences?

My hopes for motor racing rest on the UK domestic scene August onwards - I'm hoping to be able to watch one or two of the British Superbike rounds. Anything in Europe I've crossed off the list for this year, with a proper plan instead for 2022 - should be straightforward enough (cos only 1 million + will have the same idea as me)

On that note just how rammed do we think Le Mans 2022 is going to be?

Edited by wsn03 on Tuesday 2nd March 16:13
Not as rammed as 2023 with all the new manufacturers added to it being the 100th anniversary
Hmm, hadn't thought of that - yes I can see why that year will be mental, especially with a Ferrari return.
I had a big number of "one off" visitors planned for 2020, now rescheduled to 2022, who I've now told to move to 2023 - if you were going to go once 2023 would be the time to do it.

I’d imagine the local economy would benefit more from having a load of Brits spending in the bars and restaurants.

none of my chaps planning to be there this year. 2022 if now in the planning, with hopefully more there for 2023 .
Would love to get the 'Flying Choppers' reformed for then!

Only a Quarantine rule will stop me. Just 3 of us for all the stated reasons, and I'd made up my mind but...just the mention of it and i have to be there

TBH, if you could Quarantine at home then I think I could manage a couple more weeks of WFH after a LM trip.

£1700 to stay in the Dover Travelodge is a different matter though.

Week before a bank holiday weekend? The missus would finally flip (not before time to be fair)

Did anyone else who got the email spot the comment about "information on tickets for members"? Not trying to read into it too much, but could they be thinking about limiting to ACO members? Just a thought.

With so many tickets rolling over I’m not sure there will that many left to sell.

hmm. Ferry prices are not pretty. And I'm not sure whether they are refundable if I have to cancel.

I’m waiting till after the June date before booking the tunnel so I can always move the booking to 22 if required. Not falling for the ‘12 months from booking date’ line like last year.
