Great news that the idiots at the top have dropped the quarantine!

And just like that, the TousAntiCovid app now recognises UK vaccination certificates.

Good to go!

Do we need this, is it a requirement?

Edited to add, can we get the cat and the tent out please.

Dare we hope?!

I've scanned my NHS QR code into TousAntiCovid successfully, I thought there was a way of saving that as a PDF but it's not obvious (or maybe I haven't had enough coffee yet!)
Anyone else looked at this?

My understanding is that you can use the French app (preferable) or print out NHS civd passort....I'm going to do both.

Does that mean we just need a test in France upon return and no PCR in UK now?

France update from Sunday 8 August
If you arrive in England from 4am Sunday 8 August, and you are fully vaccinated in the UK, USA or Europe, you will not need to:

quarantine on arrival in England
take a day 8 Covid-19 test
You must still book and take a day 2 Covid-19 test.

It’s a LFT before return to the UK and a day 2 PCR required. I wish they’d drop the testing for green list.

Despite this excellent news, 2 of our 8 man group have dropped out. Therefore I have 2x general entry and 2x grandstand tickets (Tribune Chinetti) for sale. If anyone is interested, drop me a message.

Just got some sort of clarity for my 15 year old from the ACO:

"Dear Sir,

Your 15 year old son does not need a PCR test as the sanitary passport is compulsory from 18 years old.

Thank you for your understanding.

Kind regards"

Am I right in thinking that if you haven't been double vaccinated you have to isolate for 5 days if you go to France?
i.e you basically can't go?

Having resigned myself to missing the race for the first time since 2003, (last year doesn’t count because nobody could go) it doesn’t feel good to be faced with watching from home while knowing I could have been there.

I had toyed with the idea of driving down just for the race or even getting on a train… anyway we have family over that weekend now and it would have been difficult leaving my wife to look after our 12 week old daughter on her own even if it was just a couple of nights.

I hope we will be able to return next year, in June like it should be and maybe even with a Peugeot to add to the mix.

Enjoy the race everyone, I really really wish I could be there with you all!!

Thanks for this. My understanding though and looking at the form it's only for people who aren't fully vaccinated.

It was my understanding that you need to have the sworn statement whether vaccinated or not, certainly the top of the second page indicates that it is for both.
Word of caution; there are 2 forms, one for arrivals from amber list countries and one for arrival from green list countries. We’ll need the one for amber.

You know, I've heard rumours that there is a race coming up shortly, and the dazzlingly bright blue and yellow of the newly-painted rumble strips would seem to indicate that the rumour is correct. But as yet I haven't seen even one poster anywhere in a shop window, and usually every shop has been issued with a free one. I do know though that the golf club is closed for nearly a week curse

There doesn't seem to be a great deal of interest in attending the race either? I'd assumed the much reduced number of tickets available would be snapped up quickly by the locals, but the ACO don't seem able to shift them, maybe the locals are keener on the "event' than the race?

I would think the locals either go away for the week in normal times or fill their boots with the extra revenue from the influx of visitors. Not sure there is a mad passion in Le Mans for motor sport, more a passion for the €€€.
