Again I question how is it policed ?
Anyone ever been pulled over in a UK car and /fined/papped in a CritAir zone?
I've heard of people being checked, but in the four years I've been driving to Le Mans (which has a Crit'air zone) I've never had anyone check my car. The sticker itself doesn't get read by any cameras or anything, that seems to purely be a visual indicator for the police. With the Crit'air being part of an online registration database, it wouldn't be hard to implement an ANPR style automated system like that used for ULEZ, but thus far I've only heard of physical checks (pulled over or checked when already parked up) and even then it was at the port or in Paris. Anyone ever been pulled over in a UK car and /fined/papped in a CritAir zone?

They can’t win a war but my god a few years back the yellow jerseys managed to destroy a lot of the French fixed speed cameras.

I've never really understood the numbering. I have a V8 which has a Crit'Air 1 applied to it - which is the same as a car made from lettuce. In the UK I pay the top rate of VED as it is seen as the work of the devil.
It is a cunning plan by The Man to get you pay a load of tax whatever car you drive.Big engined petrol = lots of CO2 so high VED but few particulates so no ULEZ charge.
Small engined diesel = not much CO2 so low VED but lots of particulates so big ULEZ charge....
