Le Mans Friday Service at Classic British Welcome

Heading to the 24 Hours of Le Mans? Join us on June 10th to start the weekend in style

PistonHeads and the Classic British Welcome go together like a stubby warm beer and red sausage. So, it should be no surprise that we’ll be back supporting the 20th Classic British Welcome on June 10th.

We’ll be joining more than 1,000 classic and sports cars at the Val de Vray centre in Saint-Saturnin, a 30-minute drive from our private campsite at Bleu Nord. The theme this year is ‘retro homage’, celebrating the marques that have previously featured at the event, including Alpine, Aston Martin, Austin Healey, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lotus, Marcos, MG, Morgan, Porsche and Triumph.

On top of the cars on display, there’ll be plenty of food and drink stalls, live music and a cinema to add to the atmosphere. This year’s special guest will be Dr Wolfgang Ullrich, who’ll need little introduction as the former director of Audi Sport. Under his leadership, Audi won the 24 Hours of Le Mans 13 times.

If you’re heading down to Le Mans, there’s no better way to kick start your weekend on Friday. We have space for up to 100 classic or sports cars, so sign up here to join us for free. Don’t have a classic or sports car? No need to worry, as you can still use the free park and ride service.

We advise arriving for the 09:00 opening time, as it’s pretty hectic from 10:00 onwards. Check out the CBW website for more details after signing up  – see you there!

Ah having read this I assume I only need to add myself to the list if I'm going to be in a car that will fill one of the 100 spaces. As I'm going to be in my campervan and using the P&R I guess I don't need to be on the list?

Yes that's correct, you only need to add your name to the list if you have an eligible car to drive into the event.

I think my Hyundai Sante Fe should qualify. After all no one else takes one so it must be unique :-D

I've tried as well for you, but I'm getting the same error. Will report to the techies!

Unfortunately not, it's classic and sports cars only to park inside the venue, however you can still park outside the venue and use the park and ride service instead. It's well worth attending smile

May sound like a stupid question but I’ve never been to the Classic British welcome and I’ve signed up for the PH area to park, when you arrive is it pretty obvious where to go for PH parking?

Not at all! I'm going to send the first email out tomorrow to those already signed up with a pass to print off and put in your windscreen, so when you arrive, the marshals will direct you to the PH parking. There'll also be some signage with arrows directing you to the correct area, so keep an eye out for that too.

Thanks Ben, should have realised you'd have everything in hand.

Our groups experience is anything particularly interesting get's snaffled by the marshals and never makes it to the Sunday Service parking area smile

Late to the party here - first time to LM24 this year, and CBW sounds fantastic! Would love to sign up but most likely wouldn't get there until mid-afternoon. Will stuff still be happening from 15.00 onwards?

Usually starts to wind-up and thin out a bit by 15.00 as some of the cars start to prepare for the drivers parade later on in town. There will still be cars to see but not as many.

Sh*t that's my GT3 and I don't even remember taking it there.

GBW is a great event and should not be missed if you are over in France.

Unfortunately not going this year and not been since 2019

However been every year between 1981 and 2019, next year hopefully
