Ground clearance for car at campsite?

We are glamping in the Village Belle Tents at the Porsche Curves this year. We are told we can park next to our tent but does anyone experienced know if the ground clearance is suitable for a low sports car or is it best to have a car with higher ground clearance? Thanks

No problem where you are going. BEausejour clearance issues only really in the woods. Boggy ground or if dry, dust from the tracks is the bigger issue

I am a Director of Lycian Events who run Village on the Curves all our Village Belles are suitable for low sports cars we also ensure that the change from Road to grass is also as smooth as possible. We are the Preferrred supplier for a number of car clubs and also being a member of PCGB and owning a sports car we understand the needs of the owners.

Great that you're making it to LM this year. Lucky too considering the situ with tickets. Didn't realise selling out was possible (interpret that however you wish rofl).

Anyway, if you have a choice, ready to be shot down here... go for the more sensible vehicle. The drive to LM (for most of us anyway) is pretty boring. Lengthy stretches of autoroute or maybe some RN if you're avoiding the tolls. Not exactly what a sports car was made for.

Saying that we haven't had a problem before (we've had a range of Z4s, Boxsters, Caymans, 911s, and a Caterham one year). A while since we were in BSJ but had a rainy year there and have had rainy years in other camp sites.

OTOH if you go for the sports car and you get stuck... we'll all look forward to hearing the story.

Ha ha thanks. Don't worry, have done many thousands of miles around Europe in many different cars over the years and it's always fun. Thanks for the input. Really looking forward to it and seen to have picked the best year to go. Sunshine would be a nice bonus, but France is always a lottery ☺️

When staying at the Village On The Curves we organise the site to ensure you wont get stuck as we have roads into the site and contingency plans if we do get rain including the ability to ensure all cars can leave the site without any hassle to the clients.

🤔 Kent to Manchester or Calais to Le Mans?

Similar distances and I know which I’d prefer in a non-sensible car, especially as you don’t need to pack loads of camping stuff.

Great range of cars at Lycian as apart from lots of Porsches usually have a a few Ferraris, Astons, TVRs and the odd Lambo as well as a few motorbikes and some other great vehicles.

Old road D338? from south of Alencon good for a break from autoroute. Lots of cars to see at ports and services.

Also great CBW car show on Friday at St Saturnin- sponsored by Lycian. Great driving in (2 doors great, 4 or more and it’s a walk from car park).

Public bits of circuit open late Sunday and Monday plus the drive down to Hotel de France from Change is not bad either if you have time. Have a look at the Stickeredup4lemans threads too.

I saw a number of Porsches camping throughout the Beausejour campsite. It is smooth enough throughout.

We took two 911's and a Ferrari GT4C last year, it's a bit bumpy and dusty but no dramas, the campsite is full of similar cars

most campsites are perfectly ok if ground is dry, however if we get heavy rain the problems start.

There was an XJ220 on the campsite last year. Not as far round as where Lycian Events put their village but it was well away from the access track across the grass. It didn't seem to struggle going in and out.
