Am I the only one who's already looking at the long range forecasts yet? Getting a bit excited.

I shan't post a forecast yet even though I live at le Mans. Yesterday the weather forecast for this weekend (moto GP) WAS thunder and lightning for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Now Friday is sunny but storms for all the weekend. I got it wrong last year for the 24 Hours so will wait until nearer the time this year. In the meantime, after all the rain we have had recently, I would imagine that some camping sites are very wet. But perhaps that will change too.

More concerned with drizzle and minimal visibility driving into Francorchamps at moment and cold too - at least it’ll be 20 degrees plus in LM

Anything but rain is all I’m after. Everything is miserable when it’s raining.

And with the likelihood they’ll just throw a safety car now when it is wet is an added reason.

I've gotta agree.. and its a shame they do it so quickly now..
I was at the '95 race which was raining throughout, but the weather was a factor in allowing McLaren to win (as well as JJ Lehto's skill through the night)
Nowadays it seems that if it is raining the race is neutralised until it clears up again

Whilst i agree that there's far too many safety cars for all reasons not just the rain, it still mixes things up at times!

However...it's going to be a scorcher sun

To be fair it's not often WEC races get neutralised because it's "a little damp", not in the way US races seem to. When they do bring the SC out for rain it's not for "rain" but very much for "RAIN". I was there in 2024 when I think a lot of the night was run behind the SC - but when I woke up at 3AM for some night racing the sound of the rain on my tent put me off even going outside for a pee, let alone to head trackside! Wetter than an Otter's pocket.

Forecasts this far out are guesses at best. 10-14 days out we'll get an idea.

It looks like it's going to be a hot one again. 28/29 degrees Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. No rain forecast currently.

Meh, check if the day before you go and either add a rain coat/remove a pair of shorts or visa versa.

This is the most accurate and even now I don't really believe it:-

https://meteofrance.com/previsions-meteo-france/br...

Today is 3/6/26, and just to make a point the weather is 20C LOWER than it was a week ago - 19C against 39C.and was thunder and lightning for the last two days, yet shows 29C for the race weekend. In May, for the Bike GP, five days before the rce, it showed a sunny weekend, but it rained for the race. I wish you all the best chaps!
