But is the Hunadieres (can't remember the correct spelling) restaurant the same as the Restaurant des24hrs??
I do seem to remember a bar right on the Mulsanne straight closer to the mulsanne end than tetre rouge.
Good excuse to go bar hunting on 'Mad Friday' as a diversion from trying to burn out my clutch outside camping bleu!!

Check out the woods on the outside of the track between Mulsanne Corner and Arnage (Indianapolis?)
Tends to be infested by gendarmes, which makes for great sport! (don't wear anything bright, get ready to lie low) You can get up to the Armco and watch cars braking from probably 180mph.
Remember "nous sommes perdus" is a great phrase when you hit the cops, but it only works once - we met the feds and then went back for some more action, only to be intercepted by the same feds, they weren't impressed!

The restaurants are located on the outfield roughly opposite the Hippodrome in the area marked as Le Camp on Daves map. You need to approach from the East though the place marked as Les Queutes, about 50 feet before the road meets the circuit there's an entrance to a field on the right, it's sign posted restaurant parking (or something like that).
Although there are large barriers to block the view from the restaurant (the organisers wouldn't want you to see the race for free!), you can wander through the fields and get a good view of the cars on the straight. Police didn't seem too bothered last year, only had a go at people getting right up to the crash barriers.
There's also a non ACO camp site here if you ever get stuck without a camping ticket.

The first year I went we found ourselves on the infield just at the beginning of the Mulsanne straight .. without a doubt the most impressive sight I've ever seen .. all the cars thundering past with just armco between us -- unfortunately the gendarmes & marshalls were very anxious for us to leave -- it'd be a fantastic place to watch in darkness -- it does involve a lot of wandering through fields & woods -- very easy to get lost after a couple of beers though
If you're having difficulty dicepering the map to Hunadieres then I can give you directions from most of the campsites.
Hunadieres is still good but nowhere as good as it used to be as there wasn't any Gendarmes there in the past and you could stand a couple of feet away from the armco. The speed past there never fails to amaze.
